First, sorry, they've been keeping me so busy at work that I've had very little time to come on LIW lately But I'm trying to sneak it in!
Onto my question....
Most people say that we should send out the invitations 2 months before the wedding and have the rsvp one month before the wedding correct? I mean on average. So, when should I ORDER the invites? How long do normal invites take to come in and then how long will I spend on them if I'll probably be ordering around 200-250 invites?

Re: Invitiation timeline?
Well it depends on what type of invites you want. Price them out first, once you figure that out, order them about 5 months before your wedding, some can take up to two months to make, escpecially for that amount. My wedding is at the end of march and I'm currently working with the designer on the sample invite. After all that is done she will make them and have them ready no later than the first week in Jan, maybe sooner

Re: Invitiation timeline?
Most caterers only need 1-2 weeks for a final headcount. It really depends on your caterers schedule. And if you are having elaborate gift bags or special favors you'll want a headcount a month out. My RSVP is for 2 weeks out, but I'm pretty sure of my headcount plus or minus 5.
I just ordered my invites for my May wedding so that I would have plenty of time to address them (DIY). Addressing is very, very tedious I have found from doing the STDs so I don't want to have to do it all in 1 or 2 weekends. It's so nice to have something like that done ahead of time because it's not a fun job at all.
