Hey there does anyone else have the dilemma of having a baby momma in the picture? My FH is actually inviting a few members of her family which seems a little weird to me. Hes inviting to many pple from his daughters family. I dont mind the baby momma but then grandma and her bf grandfather and his wife great grandmother, and then baby mommas cousin. What do you ladies think.

Re: inviting baby momma family
have you met all them?
maybe they all just want to get to know you since you are going to be such a big part of that childs life.
I don't neccessarily think it is a bad thing - but then again we have no kids in the picture so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

i mean i could see how he wants to be respectful..especially if he was close with them. if you never met them though and they are like strangers to you idk then i could def see how that would annoy you. hmm thats a tricky situation

Re: inviting baby momma family
hmmmm....thats too many people. WHy not just the grandmother? He cant possible be close to the grandmother's bf and if he is, that dude can stay home and send a gift? This is suppose to be a special occassion for the select few ha not the whole neighborhood. Trust me, I am having a similar fight with my sister. My nieces' father or my sister 'baby daddy' thinks he is coming to my wedding. But like I explained to him, just because you are still close to the family and my nieces doesnt mean you are coming. I already have my brother in law (my sister current husband) coming and thats it! The less drama the better!
Good Luck!

I see his point...he may feel extremly close to those people..even though he and the baby mama are not together that doesn't mean the relationships with the others stop
If he really wants them there I could not care less (JMO)

Hey! Sorry to hear about this and your frusutration is totally understandable. I think is already big of you to invite the baby momma and perhaps stretching it to the grandmother is understandable bc you are going to be a fixture in his childs life but asking for her bfs grandpa and cousins is taking advantage of your kindness...
This is your wedding celbrating with your families and those who love you - not to sound mean but this isn't about having his daughters family involved and making the child feel comfortable (that can happen later and does not have to take place via your wedding).
I would sit down with your FH and explain your concerns and simply stated - he needs to let go of the attachments to embark and embrace your family and the new life he is beggining with you. State that you are ok with inviting the babymomma (if you truly are) and maybe even her grandmother but other than that you would like to keep the list to blood relatives and friends who mean the most to the two of you. By bringing in her relatives it makes the day more about - who's that and less about you and on your day - You and only you should be the center of attention and talk!! My FH even put his two cents and said exes should not be in attendance unless the child is a flower girl or ring bearer (for neccessary reasons)... In my opinion, I somewhat agree bc anything other that that flirts with instances of the past and this is about your future - Your wedding is about celebrating the sacrament between the two of you. Hope this helps

I agree- I think you are a VERY, VERY nice and kind person. I'd probably rip FH's head off if I were in your shoes!! This is going to be the most important day of your life- you should have who you want there.
