I am a nurse working in a small doctors office....3 doctors, me and 2 other nurses, 1 medical assistant and 2 receptionist. I only want to invite the 2 nurses i work with, 1 doctor and the medical assistant.
I feel bad not inviting everyone but im on a tight budget. Should i send invites to everyone in my small office just to be curteous? Im sure they all most wont be able to attend because 1) Its at least 1 hour away 2) Its on a thursday and most will be on schedule to work.
How have you girls given out invites at work? Any personal advice?

Re: Inviting Co-workers to the Wedding??
are the people that you WANT to invite people you would consider friends?
that's the way we did it. Anyone from work who was invited to my wedding was not surprised to be invited. They are all people I go out of my way for, people who come to visit me (my office is at the other end of our suite), etc...

Re: Inviting Co-workers to the Wedding??
it is a small group & singling out of the small grp may seem a bit odd to them & i know you are writing this bc you are concerned & don't want to make it awkward for yourself at work, so my advise is to invite the whole staff, for two reasons, you'll be inviting the ones you want to share the day and you'll keep good relationships at work, with the knowledge they will most likely be no's

I'm a teacher and I couldn't afford to invite my entire department, so I only invited the ones I was closest with. If anyone asks why they weren't invited, just explain that you are on a tight budget.

If you are on a budget, then there is nothing wrong with not inviting everyone.
I WANT to invite 5 out of 6 co-workers, but decided to invite the 6th one only because she is one more. I am not inviting her with a guest.
In your case, it's not just one person left out. It's three. If you don't want to invite them, then don't. I wouldn't bank on them not coming because they just might!

I work in a fairly small office, as well. Not as small as yours, but still small. I truthfully only invited the 6 co-workers I am closest to, and their significant other's. We are on a budget, too, and half the office I barely see or talk to on a daily basis. If they get offended that they weren't invited, oh well. I can't worry about it.

I have the same problem. I only have about 12 people total in my office, but I have a second job also.
I am inviting management from my 9-5 with spouses and a choice few ladies from my second job solo.
It is the only way we can afford it!

Re: Inviting Co-workers to the Wedding??
thanks for the advice girls...you are right when you said i should just invite those i consider my friend but i should also try to be fair and not invite a group and leave 1-2 out. I think i might just invite that one doctor ..all the nurses/med assistant. hmmm...how about the 2 receptionist. *sigh*

It gets confusing and stressful!! Just invite those people who you want to see on your wedding day and in your wedding album 10 years from now!

Re: Inviting Co-workers to the Wedding??
i work @ a small office (8 people total) and i invited 5 of the 8 with their spouses. After everyone received invites my boss asked me if i invited 2 of the other 3 people and i told her no, needless to say i felt bad and invited them thinking they wouldnt come, but low and behold they rsvp'd yes. i have nothing against them, but didnt feel close enough to them to invite them.
my point is, dont think that they will rsvp no because people love to go to weddings. if you really dont want to invite them then dont because there is a 50/50 chance they will say yes, and those odds are not in your favor.

I think it's pretty presumptious for people to think they're invited to a wedding. Invite who you are close with. That is what I'm doing. If people get offended, not my problem.
