Have any of you sent wedding invitations to people who live outside the US? I have a few guests that live outside the country and I just realized that a US postage stamp won't cut it on the reply cards. Have any of you been in a similar situation? How did you handle it? Should I send the invitation with out a reply card or just without the stamp? TIA

Re: Inviting Guests from outside the US
When I was doing so--I just sent it with a US stamp since I didn't realize it at the time. If I were to do it again, I would probably just put the reply card in w/o a stamp.

I am sending them out without a stamp
I don't know where you are sending them but a lot of other countries don't even have RSVP cards so they won't know what to do with them. I know my family in Italy will just call us up!

My FH's mom didn't have me send STDs to out of country people cus she said they will think its the actual invitation. (people in Brazil and Portugal)

Go to the post office and get stamps specifically for their response cards. You have to get the different postage anyway to send it to them. Don't forget to send theirs out a lot earlier because it can take longer to get there.

I just didn't put a stamp on the reply. They'll understand that it's not possible for you to get foreign postage.

Some of my guests are in Brazil, (others are in Panama). I'm not sure whether they thought the STD was the invitation. I guess I'll just send the invite and reply card without the extra stamp. They should be buying their airline tickets soon anyway and I'm sure they will call then.
Your responses helped me to realize that I probably shouldn't worry about it. Thanks!

Re: Inviting Guests from outside the US
We had two OOC invites: one in England and one in Belgium. For both I just took them to the post office and had them mail them individually. I didn't put a stamp on the response card, and both of them mailed them back with their own stamps (and earlier than some of our state-side guests, I might add!).

We invited people from Canada. When we went to the post office to drop off the invitations we asked the post office to do the ones going out of the country separately. I don't remember how much it cost, but it was extra.

We actually aren't sending paper invitations to my relatives in Taiwan. My mom just called them up and told them.

Re: Inviting Guests from outside the US
We sent some invites to Taiwan without stamps because we did not know what to do. Afterwards a post office clerk told me that they have international stamps that I could have used. Ask someone at the post office about them.

i would go to the PO and tell them that it is out of state and they will tell you hom much it will be and if it is more money then the normal postage.

Re: Inviting Guests from outside the US
The easiest thing to do is:
1. if you have family or friends there, get someone to send you the proper stamps BEFORE you put the invites together (ex. my aunt sent me a couple books of stamps for the country I needed). I then had those stamps to put on the reply envelope. this works well if you have several invites going to one country...in my case, i used two books of stamps, so it was worth it having someone mail them to me.
2. otherwise, just send it without a stamp. this is what i did for people in countries where i only had one or two invites going there. everyone just put the stamp on themselves.
Also, it will be extra to mail outside of the country, so group those together because you will have to use other stamps....i didn't use my pretty wedding stamps on those invites. i had a fairly standadrd invitation... it cost .67 cents to mail domestically and $1.70 to mail to Europe. FYi...this was February and I know the rates have gone up since then....

I really like the idea of having someone in Brazil send me stamps for that country. I think I've waiting to late to do that though. I'll probably check the post office for the international stamps. If that doesn't work I'll send them without stamps. Thanks Ladies!
