Inviting hairdresser and make-up artist...
Re: Inviting hairdresser and make-up artist...
If you are planning on inviting them. I would send an invite. It might be rude not to. Also, it will help you to figure out seating and stuff if you have formal responses.

I don't know what is proper, but if you send them an invite, wouldn't they think that you are expecting a gift, etc? if you decide to invite them verbally, you better let them know in advance, for you will need to place them in a table, and include them in the headcount.

I'd send them an invite.
Re: Inviting hairdresser and make-up artist...
Actually, that is precisely the reason why my mom wants to invite them verbally and not with an official invite - she doesn't want them to think they need to bring a gift. She was going to actually say something about that to them, but I think it's tacky. At the same time, I am not expecting a gift from them. I don't want to pay them for their services and have them feel obligated to turn around and give it right back as a gift.

Yeap Michelle you are right ... that is why is so hard to hold bussiness with relatives or friends, it is so easy to get into misunderstandings. Do you think that they would get offended if you don't invite them?

I don't know Michelle ... if you can afford it, go ahead and invite them, but otherwise, just try to think that they are doing their job, and you are paying for their traveling and fees. I am just finishing my master, and as music performance student, you get very involved with teachers, and although I am not very intimate with them, I would love to invite them out of appreciation; however, we can't afford to have a big wedding so we have restrained our guest's list to the closest people to us.
