I sent out my invites and I limited it so that they wouldn't be too many children. A close friend of mine is coming from Florida to my wedding and I told her she could invite her children because she will be way out of state and I would hate for her to have to leave her kids for the entire weekend for my wedding. Now I am afraid that many people will be upset by this since I limited my invites and made this exception.
Am I wrong in doing so?

Re: Inviting kids
People may be upset, but you are being considerate of someone who lives far away, which is great. The decision about who to invite is ultimately up to you and FH. I don't think there is anything wrong with your decision

Re: Inviting kids
It's your wedding, you can invite who you want.
That said, you can't control how others will feel. It's one thing to exclude all children, it's another to be told that little Jaden or Madison isn't welcome and then show up and see other kids there when you're shelling out for a babysitter. Especially when they're not close family. Personally, I think it's better to choose one way or the other, it saves hurt feelings. Yes, a lot of people prefer to leave their kids with babysitters so they can have a god time, but that's their choice, it wasn't thrust upon them

Re: Inviting kids
my feel on this is it is YOUR wedding. you cant please everyone, even if you invited the world there will be one person complaining about something, and guess what you wont even know whats going on because you will be so into your day! Im not inviting children to the reception as a matter of fact the cards say 'Adult Reception to Follow' . we have children and they're in the wedding and they're the only children that are going to be there. this is your day and make it as close to how you want it.
