Inviting 'old friends' to the wedding?? (from 09 board)

So I have a question- I just joined facebook and caught up with a few girls from college (one in particular) that I was really good friends with. She was one of my sorority sisters. We kind of lost touch (had a minor falling out) but it was years ago and I'm over it. We have been emailing and I'm sure we are going to wind up hanging out and catching up soon. She got married a few years ago and I obviously wasnt invited because we lost touch. Being that we havent been close in a while, but are starting to become close and catch up again, etc. do you think it would be stupid to invite her and her husband to my wedding? It's not like we NEED the numbers...it's more like I would like her to be there...like an old friendship that got rekindled...sorry if that sounds cheesy lol. But I just wanted to get some other people's insight...what do you girls think? TIA!

I think you should if you really want her to be there. Its nice that you regained touch after so long.

Wait a little while before you mention anything to her. If the time comes around and you're sending out your invites and you know you want her there, then definatly invite her.

Invite her, invitations can always be turned down. She will probably be flattered and pleasantly surprised.

see how your relationship goes with her, but if you really want her there by all means do it, but i think i would take it one thing at a time.... maybe hang out with her first

Sounds like you want her there. Invite her! It doesn't have to be any more complicated than that!

are you inviting anyone else that she knows to your wedding?? she may feel uncomfortable being there & not knowing anyone else.

i think you should give it a little more time.

I agree with the others. Don't mention anything just yet, but continue to hang out with her. When do you plan to send out your invites?

You should invite her if you want to. There is a reason why you both are communicating again. It can't hurt and I think if you feel its right, go for it :)

I agree. I have this problem with about 3 friends from HS who i was super close with but lost touch with but when i see them it's like no time went by. I'm waiting till i send out invites to def decide.

im also inviting a few old friends that i haven't seen in awhile, but we used to be really close--i just feel that i would still like them to be a part of my special day

I think if you are reconnecting and you have the space, go for it. I would wait to make sure the new connection is a lasting one, but if, when it comes to send invites, you feel close then go ahead!

I am currently going through the same thing. I have reconnected with a lot of my old friends from elementary, high school, prior jobs, etc. Most of whom were really close, and the only reason why we lost touch was we either moved away or went down different paths.

I am seriously considering inviting a bunch of them to the wedding. So I think if you really want them there, you should go ahead and invite them.
