Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
I did it. A lot of the girls/women I invited came single. I only invited the 'older' ladies who were married for a looooooooong time with their spouses.
Most of them were just happy to come. I basically explained the situation and told them, I/we are paying for the wedding and I want you to be there, but unfortunately I hope you are not offended if I invite you without a guests. I think if you tell them upfront and don't pop a solo invitation on them, they are more apt to understand.

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
I am inviting my coworkers w/a guest---
I just know how it feels not to be invited. My fiance's coworker got married a few weeks ago, and he only invited him and not me. And the co-worker also invited someone else from work how was been married for 20 years and did not invite his wife. IMO--I think that is rude. Maybe I would understand more if the co-worker was single and had no significant other, but this was not the case!

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
It's entirely up to you, but I would invite people from work with a guest, regardless if they are married or not.
I took the other road, and just didn't invite anyone from work.

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
It is totally up to you. It is your wedding. For me, I am inviting my co-workers with guests. I don't want them to feel uncomfortable not knowing too many people. I had to cut down the number of co-workers I was inviting to include their spouses. I think if they are married, they should definitly be invited with their spouse. Think how you would feel if you were put in the situation of being invited solo, without your husband. I would be a little upset.

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
it's up to you. We originally were going to, and did for e-party, but then we've decided to make more intimate, and are limited in space, so we cut the list and are for the majority only inviting the person no guest, unless they no no one else. We are doing thise for FH unmaried cousins & friends too.

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
I think ALL married/engaged/cohabitating couples should be invited with a guest. I would be offended if DH or I were invited without at least the option of going together.
I was invited to a co-worker's wedding where the men and women were going to sit seperately. Even though DH was invited I told him he really really did not have to go since he didn't know any of the men that were going to be there. He was grateful and I had a good time with my work friends.
As for the single people, that's up to you. Do what you can afford or fit at your reception place. If several of your co-workers come to the wedding they will have each other for company.

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
I don't think it's right to invite people (married or not) without guests. I had the same problem so I just ended up not inviting people from work. I explained that we were trying to keep the wedding as small as possible. Can you do that instead? Good luck!

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
I am inviting single people from work with a guest. They might not bring one but at least they have the option to if they want.

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
At my job we have already established that we invite co workers without a guest. Those that are married a long time don't mind, have more fun because they don't feel they have to entertain their guest. The work table has been the most fun, everyone lets loose and their husbands don't care about not going. As they say they don't even know the co workers.

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
We are inviting everyone with the option of bringing a guest. if u can't afford to do this then don't invite them it is rude to exclude their significant other. give them the option.

I would invite everyone with a guest or no one. I work in a small office. How many co-workers w/ and w/o guests were you talking? How old were they?

Re: INVITING PEOPLE FROM WORK
I've been invited to several co workers weddings with a date - both when I had a significant other and when I did not. I think its not appropriate to invite people to a wedding without including an escort.
The RULE as I understand is to invite people with an escort. However there are exceptions:
1) Singles (that will be seated at a 'Singles Table') and people who may have just started dating can be invited as a single But call them and let them know about the singles table so that they dont feel as though they will be alone.
2) Married couples (engaged couples or people who have been dating a long time) should get invied as couples (You wouldn't want your husband or boyfriend going to a wedding without you)..
Good Luck!
If you dont have the room either narrow it down or just let them know that you wish you could invite them but theres not enough room.
