We met with the priest tonight for our ceremony stuff..and i realized.. I COMPLETELY forgot to send him an invite to the reception
i feel terrible now.. my RSVP date is in a week.... what should i do... should i make an RSVP card with a later date and mail it... or just walk it over the rectory? (i'm 5 minutes away) ... i feel rude now...

play dumb and say, i still haven't rec'vd ur rsvp...hope your invite didn't get lost with a couple of others that i know of...here's an xtra invite :)

i don't think you should lie...or create a new RSVP. I think you should just say 'I apologize, I hesitated to ask because I wasn't really sure if it is considered appropriate or not...but if you are free, we'd love to have you at the reception'

good idea... will god be me at me for lying to the priest though??? lol...
the priest is really cool too.. he seems like the type of guy who would def. come party... so i dont want him to be left out.. .so maybe i will do that!!! thnaks!!!

ur right.. i would probably lose sleep if i lied to the priest... i accidently took a pack of gum from the store once and i felt sick..lol. thank you!

Do you have to invite the priest?? We didn't, Joe's uncle who is a Monsignor is giving a blessing at our ceremony and he is coming to the weddng but we don't really know the priest that is marrying us...should we have?

Yes, don't lie.....it's the priest. I would just bring the invitation over. Tell him you just assumed he would come by verbally asking him but here is an invitation anyway.

maybe just call him and see if he's interested in attending your reception? Does he really need a formal invitation? I'm jewish I don't know about 'priest etiquette'

thank you ladies.. i am going to talk to the organist next sunday after mass or tuesday after choir practice about our music selections... so i think i will just bring an invitation and let him know that i forgot to send it but we would be more than happy to have him there...
