My step-sister and I think that you are supposed to invite the priest marrying FH and I to the rehearsal and reception. My mother can't remember what she did when she got married but doesn't think the priest always gets invited to the reception. We aren't very close the the priest or the church, to be honest. What is proper?
Thanks for all your help ladies! As my wedding date gets closer I realize all the things I don't quite have the answers to!

Re: Inviting the priest question
I invited Deacon to reception..just got his RSVP and he said NO (which we kinda figured anyway). We will invite him to the RD also but I doubt he will come. They do weddings every weekend..imagine they went to all the RD and receptions?? Then they would really have no life@!

Re: Inviting the priest question
I think it is a nice gesture to send an invite.
He most likely will decline, since you are all not that close anyway.

Re: Inviting the priest question
I'm inviting our minister to the RD & reception, but its a little different she's a close family friend. BUt even if she weren't I'd still invite her.

Thanks for your input ladies. I posted this same post on the Newlyweds board and got a lot of responses.

Re: Inviting the priest question
I am considering inviting the priest and the rabbi to our RD. I really would like them to meet before the ceremony, and maybe give us a rehearsal
