I started a new job a little over a month ago. I work with a lot of women, and most are older then me so i am not particularly close with anyone yet although everyone i work with have been soo nice. My two supervisors has been esp helpful, so now i feel like maybe i have to invite them, but if i do i would feel like i have to invite everyone (which is like another 10 people-yikes)as they are all close. should i just not invite any of them, is that rude?

i would invite the bosses and that's it. i think everyone else will understand. but if you havent met your minimum yet, might as well invite the rest to get your moneys worth!

I would invite your direct supervisors as well. You're so new to the dept, the rest will understand/ I'm in a similar situation, and I'm torn over if I should even invite my new boss. I may pass.

I'd invite the two who've been helpful and who you're close to, but I wouldn't worry about anyone else. Not only are you new, but weddings are expensive and you can't just invite everyone you know - people will understand. It's just the way these things go, it's nothing personal.

i started my position about 7 months ago and i'm inviting my boss only. the two women i'm close with here completely understand. you have to draw the line somewhere.

I started my job 7 months ago also, I am only inviting my supervisor & no one else. Not because I don't have room for them, but because I really don't like them!

I'm in a similiar situation at work, so I decided to invite them all to the ceremony, not the reception.
However, if you decide to invite them to the reception, make sure your direct supervisors/bosses are invited or create a B list for co-workers and as 'no's' come in, you can send an invite to them.

Hi Bonnie!!!
If you only started a month ago, I would just invite your immediate supervisors. I also haven't been at my job that long and only invited my three supervisors and a couple of the ladies that I have become very friendly with.
You shouldn't feel bad about it. I'm sure nobody is expecting to be invited and won't feel slighted if you only invite your supervisors.
HTH!

i wouldnt invite anyone from work. first off - no one expects you too - and secondly - i would hate for them to feel obligated to either go or give a gift when they dont really know you that well. IMO

No definately not to your shower. Your shower should be for those closest to you.
