IO Cablevision ??

IO Cablevision ??

We were going to get Direct tv in the new house, but found out yesterday we would have to cust down a few trees. We are going to go back to cable. I was thinking of the IO cable. Can anyone who has it let me know what you think of it? Do you need a 'box' for each tv? And if you don't mind me asking what package and how much it is a month? Do you think it's worth it? Any info would be great. Thanks

I dont have IO yet BUT...

You need a box for each TV. I have family cable right now and if I wanted IO I would add like $7.95 a month to my bill (about $90.)

Personally I think Cablevision SUCKS because of their prices and they dont have the YES network (Yankee fan).

I agree about cablevision, but I don't want to cust down trees just for tv. I really wanted the Direct TV. I ordered just family cable for now. I want to get opinions on the IO before we upgrade.

we have IO since it was first introduced and we LOVE it! we now have 4 boxes plus optimun online (internet) and it costs about $115 a month. My regular cable w/the internet was $140

We have IO and love it. We have 3 boxes and 2 online accounts and pay about $120 a month. My favorite part of IO is the movies on demand. You never have to go to blockbuster : ).

MY husband helped build IO

I think we will probably get it and try it out. We are getting Verizon DSL for the computer, so we wouldn't need the optimum just the IO.

We have it on 2 out of 3 TV's, basic cable on the 3rd. DH loves it Im fine with regular cable. I think ist about $75.00 per month for everything.

I LOVE IO. You can order a movie on demand (the ones you would get at Blockbuster) but unlike Pay-Per-View, you can rewind, pause, stop them and watch again. Youc an also order older movies for free through HBO on Demand. Best part though, you can order episodes of your favorite HBO and Showtime series (like Sex and The City/ Sopranos/ Curb Your Enthusiasm/ Queer as Folk- okay I watch too much TV!) for free too. I think it is worth it

I love the IO.
We have boxes for all the rooms.
Wish the boxes were a little smaller ( size of a dvd player) but still wouldnt trade it in for anything else right now.
I got mine about 6 months ago while they were running a special that would cost us nothing to upgrade, so my cable bill is the same as it was before.. I think like 60 a month. ( I also get a discount since I have optimum online)

Do any of you ladies that have IO have interuptions w/ service or anything like that? When I firt got Optimum online I had endless trouble. We have been talking about getting it but were unsure if it's worth it-sounds like it might be. BTW can you block the 'bad' channels?

when Harry and I first moved into the house, we were having problems with the Optinmun online and he, being a computer geek got on the phone with one of the techs and straightened it out. They were doing some upgrades on the servers and we couldnt surf. Once that was done, we havent had any problems!! Its definatly worth it!!

I think they have the parental controls. I have never used it but Im sure of you ask Cable they will be able to tell you better.

Re: IO Cablevision ??

We have periodic trouble with our IO box and have to reboot it which is annoying when it causes you to miss a few minutes of what you're watching. It's also very slow to change channels, switch to the guide, etc. Sort of like waiting for a web page to load in. We had ATT digital in MA and it was instaneous so we got spoiled with that. We're actually thinking of dropping it because we don't see that much benefit. They also pull a fast one on the pricing - tell you it's only $7.95 a month, but that's only for the service, it's also $3.95 a month to rent the box. Right now you don't need a box for every TV in our area, but some areas do require you to get a box for each set. When that happens, we'll be seriously looking at Satelite.
