IO DIGITAL CABLE.........

Well, cabklvsion did it agian, they are forcing me to get a digital box! I was told that I will not be able to get my HBO without the box, so now I have to give more $$$ to them, and have to sit home and wait for them tomorrow if they even show up! Last year when I got cable installed after the 9-11 attacks they did not show up 3 times in a row until I started to scream! I felt like I was in a Seinfield episode! Does anyone have the new digital cable? What do you think of it? FH is thrilled more sports channels, I will never get him away from the tv! yikes!!!!!!!!

We have and I love it. They have a great tv guide type feature and you get all the HBO, Shotwtime type stations, plus dozens of other stations. And in fact our cable bill went down when we went digital.

We got a similar type phone call a during the summer - they upgraded their digital box for pay per view movies. Even though we NEVER order pay per view we had to get the new box or no cable at all Aside from the fact that we had to get this done 3 weeks before the wedding and that we had one our boxes replaced two weeks prior b/c it wasn't working, the installer said that theres another new box coming out at the end of the year. Gee I wonder why cable is so expensive.

I hope they at least show up on time for ya!

We've had digital cable for about a year now...it has its good and bad sides. I love getting video on demand because i never have to go to blockbuster lol, but every now and then the digital screws up and we lose the picture or the sound isn't on the same track as the picture so it looks like we're watching a bad kungfo movie : ). All in all its pretty good.

I LOVE the new digital cable!! so many more choices of shows, movies and specials!! I will never go back!!

And I do not even work for Cable!! LOL

Like Karen, we've had it for a year. I think the good outweighs the bad. Also like Karen, we experienced a lot of disruptions, but I think they were getting the kinks out since it was a fairly new system. We haven't had any problems lately.

We love it and thinks it's worth it.

I use to have cable but it was too much $$$. I now have Directtv and love it. For the same amount of money I used to pay for basic, 1 channel of HBO and another premium channel, I have now with Directv all the channels.

We just got it. So far it is pretty good, the music stations are actually my favorite. The cable guy came real late though. 8 pm on a Sunday and had to come back during the week because the job was too big to do in the dark. He was here for 4 hours hooking up the boxes.

Compared to the digital cable we used to have when we lived in Massachusetts, Cablevisions is lousy! The TV guide is so darned SLOW!!! Even changing channels is slow - it's like waiting for a web page to load in. In MA we had ATT digital cable and I'm hoping and praying they come to LI - we keep lobbying for it any time we have a chance. The channel changes were instantaneous - you didn't have to sit and watch that stupid red thing circle around while your digital box was deciding to make a move.

we have io and are totally spoiled by it. we haven't been to blockbuster in a year. you just scroll through all these movies and can watch them whenever you want. you can also watch the reruns of any of the HBO series any time you want, which I think is really cool.

Thanks for all your responses! The cable man came after the time he was supposed to, I was on with cablevision telling them they better have someone here when he showed up. I am so addicted to the new channels! I love the games, and music stations as well as all the channels I get now. Just afraid FH is never going to stop watching sports now! The Magrack is kind of cool also!
