Iphone or blackberry?

I'm obsessed. I really want a new phone and can't decide what I should go for. Should I go for an Iphone or a blackberry? I need opinions!

I have a blackberry but would probably rather have an iphone. . but depends on what you like. .. also I have an older BB so that might sway the decision. . i know the newer ones are way better

I have an iphone and i absolutely love the things in can do.. however my phone is a little buggy at times and recently I've been having a lot of trouble with the phone service itself dropping calls & people not able to hear me

It is so funny because it seems like people that have blackberries LOVE them and then the same for iphone users.

Re: Iphone or blackberry?

I have had an iPhone for about a year... and I can't tell you how much I love it. I sometimes wish I had a blackberry because typing text messages and emails on the iphone takes some time getting used to (the keyboard is touch pad not buttons like the BB), but the iPhone has features that the BB doesn't. I never use my ipod anymore because there is one built into the phone, it syncs seamlessly to my computer (and I have a PC not an apple), the mapquest app use allll the time, it has its own YouTube app that is really convenient... not to mention the tons of apps you can download from the app store. One of my favorite things is that voicemails are saved to the phone's hard drive so you 1. don't have to dial or enter a pin to retrieve messages and 2. you can select what message you want to listen to first.

It DOES take some getting used to if you're used to a regular phone -- it's heavier, and a little awkward at first to use to make phone calls. But overall I love mine! They've come down so much in price (FH bought mine when it was sill $399, now it's half that) I h ave also been a loyal Verizon customer for yearrrrrsssss but switching to AT&T was great, I have service in spots I never had with VZW.

the new blackberry, the blackberry storm is touch pad now too and not buttons.

Hmmm dh has an iphone and even though it drives me nuts that hes always on the thing, it is pretty cool. BUT i warn you that AT&T doesnt have insurance for iphones, and if you do buy one and you have an AMEX card put it on that bc you have a bit more coverage if something happens to the phone. I am telling you this bc on thursday dh dropped his phone and the whole glass on the front of the IPHONE shattered, so i went yesterday and even with the warranty they cant do anything, only problems that happen bc of them. So yeah had to pay for a brand new phone, not even a discount or anything but pay $299 again the guy asked if i had an amex card to pay with and i said no and he said bc AMEX will cover youwith certain things that Apple won't. I even went online and found one MB for apple and a bunch of ppl put the phone on their home insurance lol but it worked and better than paying for a new phone if something happens

its also useful bc instead of having an ipod and a phone you have it in one. Now in the car we just connect his phone to the radio and listen to music.

That's crazy that they made you buy a new one! I had my iphone replaced 2x, no questions asked... once it had water damage (FH dropped it in the ocean while sailing to Block Island), second time I dropped it on the side walk.... Maybe because mine is the first generation they don't care as much about replacing it as much as the 3G (which they can still sell). I would only get a BB if it had a key pad. I find my nails get in the way of typing on the iPhone -- luckily there is an auto-correct thingy for spelling words because otherwise it would drive me nuts having to retype things over and over!

I didn't know that if it's bought with Amex then there is different protection (that's how FH purchased mine I'm sure since he puts everything on his Amex cards). I will let him know... for when we upgrade to the 3G (part of our Xmas gifts to one another).

Another thing I just learned: if you are preexisting iPhone owner (or any apple product for that matter) you are always eligible to upgrade to the newest model at the promotional price. I was discouraged when the new 3G came out, thinking we'd have to shell out $699 for the new iphone. But when I went to the apple store about a month ago they said that we'd be able to get the 3G for $199. Not too bad!

I have a jack for my car too -- simultaneously charges and I can listen to my tunes! I love it!

I checked the warranty before I went and it specifically said that if you drop it or you cause damage it is not covered. The only way its covered is if you bought it with an AMEX card, amex insures it, i wish they would've told DH when he first bought it. Another way is to put the phone on another insurance, like state farm or your home owners insurance. But i spoke to 3 workers there yesterday plus i looked it up online. I found alot of info about ppl saying how AT&T wont insure their iphones and how they had to do it in other ways. If dh would've paid with an AMEX card he could've gotten a new one for free

yeah it is the 3G, and even yesterday when i went the guy said i was lucky bc they only had 2 left. ANd yes that explains why they replaced yours free of charge, bc he used AMEX. They told me about this yesterday.

if the phone would've messed up in another way i could've lied about how it happened, maybe i should've just said it was stolen but the glass was completely shattered so obviously it was caused by negligence unfortunately. Also not sure if above poster might be right that depends on the model of the phone or not. DH has the 3G and the 16GB one, and like i said above, they only had 2 left yesterday and i got lucky bc of that, otherwise would've had to wait for one. I dont know but i did go up to 3 separate workers to make sure lol and i really tried then came home and looked up so much info to make sure it was right what they told me lol

Re: Iphone or blackberry?

you can get insurance through other places, apple wont insure it. I wish dh knew not to just stick with their warranty but also go to an outside place to get insurance for the phone.

I just found this, might tell DH to do this or something similar, they also do blackberry coverage

I don't know what I did before it, but its very hard to look away from it on my days off.
