im looking for an ipod does anyone know where I can get a new one with discounts? I checked a couple sites but they are all the same price.
I got mine with a discount from apple, I was able to use the education discount because I am still a student.
I don't think Apple allows retailers to discount their items, the iPod in particular, unless they're refurbished. (Kind of like Dewalt tools.) If a retailer does get caught offering a discount, usually the vender won't sell them anymore of their products.
Maybe ebay?
dh got a slight discount on amazon and there was also a free shipping deal at the time. but most places do not discount ipods.

teachers get the education discount as well as students!
I get a 4% discount at the apple website becuase of my job but its lame, have to pay tax also. I found a link today that was 269 for a 20 gig. 15 coupon and 10 instant rebate. i applied the $15 coupon and when i went to apply the instant rebate it wouldnt take it. i called up the merchant and i think they are connected to india becuase i could not understand them. the first person was nice and said its not in the system but to call back in 10 minutes and tell them i qualify for the instant rebate. i called back, did not get the same guy. some lady sounded like she was reading from a script and said she couldnt do it because its considered a coupon. so pissed. asked for a supervisior and told they do not have those capabilities where they are so i canceled the offer. it ended up being 279 is that still a good deal?
