FH has never been to Europe so we're going to go for our HM. Ireland will be one of our stops but we don't know where to go. Anyone have any recommendations?

Re: Ireland
I have family in both the North and the South and think that a tour would be best for someone who has never gone b/c I think you will get to see the most things. In the South Kerry and the western coast counties are beautiful and of course Dublin is a huge tourist attraction and a lot of night life. In In the North, Donegal is gorgeous and right on the coast. Belfast has gotten very built up in the past years and offers some really nice hotels. HTH

Re: Ireland
I have to day of course visit Dublin its not huge so it is really only a day or two visit, I loved Killarney, Galway is only a small day trip but great pubs and night life, I really enjoyed visiting Dingle and the cliff of moher. I could skip the blarney castle because the grounds are amazing but its really not worth going up that tower to kiss a stone that the locals pee on at night.
I did a tour with CIE last July it was a rather BUSY tour so I don't recommend that for people who don't like to be rushed around and are limited on times to eat/shop. But you get to see everything.
IF fh and i have the money that is my greatest wish to do ireland again. I cry sometimes thinking how I wish I could go back.

Re: Ireland
I’ve been to Ireland a bunch of times, but mostly it was jus to visit family. However, here’s some good travel things I can remember:
Glenlo Abbey is a really nice place to stay in Galway...and Bunratty Castle is tons of fun! Of course, you have to remember the last time I was there I was like 12, lol.

Re: Ireland
Here's a past link. I wasn't impressed with Dublin. If I was making a short trip to Ireland I probably wouldn't include this in my trip, and I've been told the same by a lot of friends. However, you may have different tastes. I'd get some travel books and see if you can catch some travel specials on the Travel Channel.
