What little touches are you having to make your day have an Irish feel?

Re: Irish Brides
We are having a bagpiper, my father/daughter dance is Irish, and we get a free ice sculpture so I was thinking maybe a claddagh. Our wedding is on March 19th and I wanted to have Irish themed favors, but FH is Italian and didn't want to have Irish overkill, so I think that's going to have to be it.

We're not doing a lot. We're either using the Irish blessing as a reading or in our program on the last page right before we thank everyone. We will also play some Irish music at the reception. I would like to do more but my FH is Italian and don't want to make him feel like it's all about me - I want him to know that it's all about US!

Re: Irish Brides
I have Irish toasting glasses, an Irish unity candle and i want to get an irish guest book. We are thinking about the bag pipes but we are getting married at 11 am and i am hoping that it is not too loud that early in the morning.

Re: Irish Brides
having half of co. kildare flying in for the wedding. irish enough for ya?
nothing really irish themed other than an irish unity candle and some irish songs at the reception and we're offering guinness and magners along with bud and coors beers and also irish coffees with dessert. we may have FFIL bring over an irish wedding cake but since we are getting the regular cake from the hall with our price of the hall, I don't know if he'll bother. IRish wedding cakes are fruit cakes and FH hates fruit cake and so do most people he knows so I don't know why FFIL is bothering but he wants to do it, I won't stand in his way. He's paying for it.

Re: Irish Brides
We're having a band that plays dance and rock music as well as some Irish music. We have some family and friends flying in from Ireland, and a bagpiper play for a few minutes during the reception. By chance, we also have an Irish priest performing the ceremony.

Re: Irish Brides
I'm only like 20% Irish, but I'm getting little four leaf clover favors, with this irish poem to go along with them.. My wedding is the weekend before St. patties day, so i thought I would incorperate irish into our wedding somehow.. Plus, these are adorable, and there real 4 leaf clovers.. GOOD LUCK, who doesn't need good luck???
This is the poem, i like... May God go with you and bless you, May you see your children's children, May you be poor in misfortune and rich in blessings, May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward.
Ohh...I love the shamrocks! Anyone else using an Irish favor of some sort?

Re: Irish Brides
For my favors I am using porcelain claddagh ornaments which I am going to put our names and date on. I using the claddagh as my theme. It is on my flutes, unity candle, favors, invitations and place cards. I have ribbon with shamrocks on them which will go around the necks of the vases for the centerpieces and I am also using it to decorate the birdcase envelope holder.

Re: Irish Brides
Oh my God, my parents got Irish linen hankies, too!! I thought my family was the only one into that!! I know we'll play some Irish songs (fortunately, FI is of Irish descent, too, so I don't have to worry about overshadowing his family) and I have Celtic candles, but otherwise I'm not sure what else we'll add. I'd love to have a bagpiper play as I'm walking down the aisle, but bagpipes get me weepy as it is, and I don't want to be a bawling mess. Any ideas or suggestions to make the reception feel more Irish is always appreciated!

I got my claddagh ornaments from catholicsupply.com. It's a religious store website, but they have some irish items and when I bought them last year they were on sale after christmas for 1/2 price.
