Irish Honeymoon

For those of you that have been to Ireland, where are some must see attractions and places to stay that would be great for a honeymoon? It will be our first time there. We are flying into Dublin and out of Shannon in July.

Loved the Waterford factory (had to ask my friend to hold my wallet so I wouldn't go crazy buying everything I liked!).

I was only in Ireland once, when I was 15, but we flew in Dublin stayed there for a day or two, rented a car and drove all around the country staying at bed and Breakfast's - i would recommend that cause you can get an intimate vacation while seeing the whole country... more specifically theres the blarney stone, cliffs of mohr (sp?) ... you should get one of those travel books...

it's gonna be an awesome time though, ireland rocks!

Hi you should go down to Kerry and see Killarney and the ring of Kerry or the wicklow mountains in wicklow they are breathtaking. When you are in Clare getting ready for Shannon you should check out Bunratty Castle, CLiffs of Moher, and the burren if you get a nice day. Those are all great sites.

You should have a great time there.

Make sure you stay in Galway for a night or two. The town of Galway has the best shops and pubs, always playing traditional Irish music. It's my favorite spot in Ireland! It's on the water too so you have great views of Galway Bay.

We stayed in a castle one night that was amazing. It's called 'Abbeyglen Castle' in the town of Clifden in Galway. Very romantic. Breathtaking views and beautiful rooms. Our room had a canopy bed, a fireplace, huge bathroom, dining room, it was so nice. The cost of the room includes dinner and full Irish breakfast.

Have a great time! Let me know if you have anymore questions.

My parents are from Ireland and I go there frequently....feel free to FM with questions. Main question that will help me help you; do you want 'touristy' stuff or things that will take you off the beaten path a little bit? Do you want country or city or a little of both?? FYI: July is prime tourist time in Ireland...weather is best then and the place (particularly southern Ireland and Dublin will be crawling with tourists... definitely see some of that, but the North and West are more amazing in my opinion and hotels, etc. will be easier to find and book. FM if you'd like!
