IRISH WEDDING BANDS

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY GOOD BANDS THAT CAN PLAY IRISH MUSIC AS WELL AS ROCK AND ROLL AND DANCE MUSIC? I DON'T WANT A BAND THAT JUST PLAYS IRISH MUSIC, BUT ONE THAT CAN PLAY A MIX AND KEEP EVERYONE DANCING ALL NIGHT! THANKS A MILLION!

It's too late to call now, but by Best Man had one from Queens. I will call tomorrow and post it. You can even see them play during teh week at MATCHMAKERS in Maspeth.

THANKS. I SAW THEM A FEW YEARS AGO. THEY WERE GOOD. I'VE ACTUALLY CONTACTED SHANNON BREEZE (FROM QUEENS ALSO) WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. I JUST HEARD ABOUT A BNAD CALLED STAGES THAT ARE SUPPOSEDLY EXCELLENT. THEY PLAY A LOT UP IN BRONX/YONKERS AREA. IF YOU HEAR OF ANY OTHERS KEEP ME POSTED THANK YOU. APPRECIATE ALL YOUR HELP.

I heard the same about Andy Cooney. My brother does fill-in's for him when his regular guitarist is busy and he said that the old ladies love him, but the young people think he is just okay.

The Cunningham Brothers are a VERY popular band that's been around Woodside Queens (hope of tons of Irish) for years. My fiance grew up in Woodside and recently saw them play at an event -- he & all the guests (including the women!) said they were fantastic! The band leader Jim Cunningham also represents another band (who, to be honest, probably can't compare).
Maybe they are what you're looking for?

THANK YOU I'VE JUST LOOKED ON THE WEB SITE FOR THE CUNNINHAM BROTHERS AND JUST FINISHED E-MAILING THEM. SO WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS! KEEP ME POSTED IF ANYONE KNOW OF ANY OTHER BANDS.
