Is 11 too old to be a flower girl?? suggestions..

Fh little sister will be turning 10 in July. When we get married next summer she will be turning 11. We want to give her a special role in our wedding but I don't know that I want to make her a bridesmaid or even a jr. bridesmaid. I was thinking flower girl/ ring bearer/ something else. Suggestions please. She's so excited about us getting married its cute. Is 11 too old to be a flower girl?? My 2 neices will be 13 or 14 at the time what role should they have??

Fh's cousin will be 6 and a jr BM cause our FG will be 2 , you can maybe have her hand out things at the church if you think she is too old for FG and too young for jr BM

you can have her do a reading maybe? Maybe show people to their seats? Be creative! :) Im sure you will come up with something that will be perfect for your day!

maybe my nieces can do some readings. i feel like i'm closer to his lil sis than my own nieces so my main question is whether 11 is too old to be a flower girl.

i think it might be too old, I would suggest JR bm, really they arent as involved in bms, but they have a special place-can wear the same or different dress...

It's up to you to decide if she is too old or not. She may really enjoy being a JR BM though, since you said she really excited about the wedding. She would feel like she has a bigger part and is like the other girls.

lol.no i am DEAD SERIOUS... she was the same age as the bride (we're all sorors) and the bride ws 25 at the time.. it was really nice though.. think coming to america, how the girls came in and laid flowers before the african princess came to meet eddie murphy.. it was beautiful.

Personally I think it depends on the girl. Soem 11 year olds are small for their age while others like my 4th graders who I worked with, are almost as tall as my own 5'6! She might feel funny being a FG, unless she suggested it, because it typically is a role for younger girls. I would say make her a jr. bridesmaid and if you think thats not an option, have her do a reading/usher people to their seats. You can also make her your personal 'coodrinator.' (We are doing this with our youngest BM who just turned 14 but is more like an 11 year old maturitywise) Basically, you give her small tasks to do, like make sure the girl's flowers are all ready to go. Have her help you hold up your dress. Send her to make sure the centerpieces are good. Basically, make up stuff thats unimportant but make it seem like she is doing you a huge favor. All chidlren, regardless of age like to be made to feel important and moreso, she WILL DO A BETTER JOB than some of your older BM's because she wants to pelase you and only you. None of that crap you sometimes find with older BMs where they put themselves first.
