Is 25lbs in 20 weeks do-able?

I know it's barely over a pound a week, but I'm wondering if at the end it will get harder. My wedding is in 20 weeks. Any tips for how much I should lose a week in the first few months so that I can reach my goal? Any tips are appreciated!

That sounds like me. I am pushing for 25-30lbs by June. I think it is doable just have to eat right and exercise. I kept putting it off but I dont think I can any longer. LOL. It's time to stop stuffing my face!

Yesterday I went to Modells and got 5 lb weights and a resistence band. I'm going to make myself do some toning exercises every other day. But I still have weight that I want to lose too. That's the part I'm worried about!

you've really got to make a commitment to yourself to eat right and exercise at least 5 times a week. sites like www.sparkpeople.com and fitday.com have helped me because i actually log what i eat and it keeps me from cheating because I know I will have to track every calorie later....

another thing - I don't believe in cheating on the weekends....it just makes it harder to lose the weight and I don't think it's a healthy approach to eat like crap 2 days out of 7...

I have been on my 'wedding diet' for two weeks now and have lost two lbs...it is slowwww going and very frustrating, but if you put your mind to it you should definitely be able to lose 1-2 lbs per week.

good luck!!!!

I eat too much on weekends - I just read the average person eats an additional 115 calories a day on the weekends - I totally blow that way out of the water!!!!

That's my thing. I do ww and I'm good all week. But weekends kill me! Alicia, I think you're right. It's just a bad habit to eat crap all weekend.

I know....it's easy to try and justify eating badly on the weekend 'I deserve it, I worked hard all week, etc.,' but when you think about it you're just going to make it harder on yourself and your body. I really think it's a lifestyle change....I'm trying to teach myself to eat better and workout as part of my everyday life, not just for the wedding, not just for the week...you know? Good luck - it's tough, especially when you work your butt off and lose a measly one pound a week (like me)!

I think it is definitely doable - i have already lost 10 pounds in about 4 weeks. It is slow going, but that is what really keeps the weight off.

I have been working out 5 times a week - mixing up cardio and weight training.

I also changed my diet a little. I am eating a lot lean meats, vegetables and fruits and trying to stick to healthy whole grains.

I gave up processed sugars and flour, and of course fried foods.

i am eating well, and I am never hungry.

Lots of luck to you. HTH.

I think its totally doable...I started a WW plan Jan. 3 & have lost 22 lbs since then...(I do lose easily, but also gain just as easily). I think it could definitely be done.

Totally doable. Watch your snacking!!!! I have been working out and watching what I ate, but it wasn't helping too much. But then I was put on a 1300 calorie South Beach Diet. It started on Feb 15th and I've already lost 10 pounds. Phase 1 of the diet is known for being strict. I'm under doctor's care though.
