what is the program? They won't take any of your AA credits?

It depends. I used to work in transfer advising, and there are a lot of questions that need to be answered to determine the amount of time it will take. For example, you wouldn't believe the # of students I have seen that only took remedial math or stats as part of their AA or AS degree, and then want math education. They are starting from scratch with all the math courses, and all the intro math courses act as prerequisites for the higher level courses. So, it would generally take 3-4 years, fewer if the student attends summer sessions. An AA in liberal arts is so general that often it will take the student more than 2 years to complete a degree, even if all 60 credits or so were accepted. Ideally during the AA coursework the student will have completed all the 100 and 200-level coursework for the major, and can then start with the 300- and 400-level courses, but most students have not decided at that point what they intend to study. Good luck!

its with ITT TECH. I need 30 classes, and thats with all my transferred credits transferred... and they only allow you to take 2 classes per quarter... so that would be 8 classes a year which would be almost 4 years!

screw it... im not going to ITT tech. thing is im looking for online programs and no one has what i really want, and its stressing me out!!!

Don't do ITT Tech! It is not an accredited school (it is accredited by the council of independent schools, which they pay to join, which means no one would take their credits), so the credits would never transfer should you want to go someplace else (kind of like a katherine gibbs type of school). Don't waste the $ on it! Try looking at the SUNY online programs here , or even the University of Phoenix online which is accredited. Good lucK!

Phoenix doesn't have what i need. NO ONE does. grrrrr

and SUNY doesn't have the program i want to take either , well Farmingdale does, but not online.
I found a school (Champlain COllege) in vermont that has an online program that is FOR computer and digital forensics. I'm going to do more research, but this school looks like a REAL school, where my credits would transfer if i decide to go elsewhere when i move.

I decided against ITT (finally) for that reason! what if i don't like this program, then my credits and money were totally wasted.

Thanks for your help... if you know of any other good schools, let me know. THANKS!

GW, according to my husband, online has an excellent program in forensics. Could you ever take a satellite degree?

whats a satellite degree? and under what major? Criminal Justice?
I would be willing to wait till i move to start up my schooling if they didn;t have an online program. Since we do plan on moving to DC/VA eventually.

i see they have forensics for a masters degree, but i don't see much for undergrad. And its not really computer forensics.

SUNY Farmingdale has an online degree in Security Systems (a B.S. degree). It sounds similar to what you are looking for (it is all computer security systems). Definitely give them a call--I have heard the graduates make great $ at the end. Website--click on Bachelor Programs, then Security Systems Good luck!

Well, ask if it is still all online--it isn't listed on the SUNY online website anymore as an online program. If not, you can probably still take most of the courses online. Give them a call to make sure before you pay the application fee. It probably has a program code for that program on the application when you apply, then you just choose online courses when registering. Good luck! It sounds like a really interesting program. I was trying to convince FH to go back for it (he has a BS in Criminal Justice which is totally worthless now that he decided he doesn't want to be a cop...).
