I'm currently looking for a videographer, and most videography packages have a fully edited video that's 90 minutes long (some packages are only 60 minutes long).
Is 90 minutes long enough?
I'm having a traditional Greek wedding in which the ceremony lasts at least 1 hour (usually 1.5 hours). The coctail hour will begin at 6pm, and then the 'main event' of the reception will be from 7-11:30pm. I know that there will be down times when dinner courses will be served, but I would expect at least 1.5-2 hours of dancing, and with the cake cutting, bouquet throwing, and speeches it might be 2.5-3 hours of 'video-worthy' material.
So, is even 120 minutes long enough?
Thanks, Anna

I think that what they mean by 60-90 mins is the edited version. From what I heard, you can get the unedited video too. But I could be wrong...

Most videos when done and edited that is the length that they run. Ask if you get the un-edited version also-this will include your WHOLE ceremony and reception. The edited is more the key parts of the day

That is a fair amount of time to condese your wedding down too...
Greek weddings are a tad different when it comes to the ceremony because of the lenght... DVD's at its highest quality are 2 hours in time...
With dancing/cocktail hours and the rest of the details, those can be shorten to minutes...
You may want to ask for the raw footage if you think you are going to be missing something..

Re: Is 90 -120 minutes enough for the wedding video?
In the package my sister got, we got one DVD that had basically the whole Mass on it (meaning from entrance of BM, the complete readings, complete Homily, songs, communion and exiting of BM plus some of the receiving line and the rose petal toss) and the second DVD was the party. They also got the unedited tape but most of the tape was on the DVD which is great.
Getting the whole Mass taped was the big incentive going with the videographer that was chosen. They understood that the Mass was the most important part for the couple and families.

I think its plenty of time. However, if you want to add the entire ceremony and not have it edited ask your videographer. I'm sure they'll be happy to comply since that means less time spent editing the video and less work for them.

I think 90 min. - or even 60 - is plenty of time to capture everything you will want. 120 I think is too long. JMO.
