Hi guys, I just want to know if it's important to visit the DJ to talk about what's expected the day of the wedding:
We have to go over with him things like, what music to play, what not to play, introduction of names, ceremony music and specific instructions on first dance songs, etc.
Is this something we should meet him about or can this be done on the phone?

I was JUST talking about that with my MOH yesterday... funny you ask this. I think I go see my DJ about 2 weeks before the wedding.

we met w/ our dj the week before the wedding. i think it's best done in person so there is less of a chance of any misunderstandings....

Yes! Very important that u see everything on paper SO if there's something there missing on the day of the even u have proof and if they give u a balance on the phone and u get a diff one in person u will have the proof
my bf had a party and the there was supposed to be a dj and mc and there was just one dj that showed and for $900 she was pissed just for the 1 guy when there was uspposed to be 2

I would def have this meeting in person so you can make sure things are written down. There tends to be more miscommunication over the phone, and that's not something you want to deal with for such an important vendor.

i know some people just do it over the phone but i did it face to face. but for me it was completely pointless because my DJ didnt listen to what i wanted and played what he wanted...but i digress!

My DJ does everything over the internet. I fill out my own paperwork.

We're actually going to meet with ours tonight for the 2nd (and final) time before the wedding. I wouldn't even think of not meeting with him beforehand just because there's so many details to go over.

like the others said, it's good to see the final details down on paper and hammer it out in person.

FH and I went Fri gave dj list of like 60 or so songs..... just as a guide.... and to give the balance of payment.... we have dj and mc.....

I would meet with them in person. I am meeting with mine in a couple of weeks. He said 6 weeks before the wedding. He gave us a sheet to fill out and we are going to go over other details with him.

mine wants to see me about a month before. I think its a good idea to nail down all the details. one less thing to worry about on your wedding day
