IS A WEDDING PLANNER A GOOD IDEA?

I DONT WANT TO GO CRAZY THE DAY OF..OR MY FAMILY....SO I WAS THINKING OF HAVING A PLANNER JUST TO HELP OUT FOR THE DAY.
DOES IT WORK LIKE THAT? CAN ANYONE RECCOMEND ONE?

As far as it being a good idea - if you can afford the extra expense, its a great peace of mind more than anything. I used to do wedding coordination so I know that very few brides 'need' one but its always great to have a set of helping hands that is working instead of doing you a favor.
