...planning a wedding AND shopping for a house at the same time? or is FH and i the only insane ones?
just wondering, since i saw on another thread that a lot of girls mentioned they're waitint to have until after they've purchased a

we are buying one after the wedding
our lease was up Nov 1 on our apartment and we are getting married Dec 10- way to hard to pull off
Also- my FH is in the Mortgage business and wants to wait about a year b/c in HIS opinion the prices should start to fall this year
Even if they don't we will have a bigger down payment- so it's a a plus in my mind

We are going to wait till about 2-3 months before the wedding to buy. We have looked, and we know what we want. We just thinks it will be tooo stressful to buy now when we know we still have the whole wedding to pay for. At least if we wait for 2-3 months before we know we will have some type of bank account again in a few months!!
I stress money
I would go insane with no money in the bank

if we waited until we have a house to have kids, we would be waiting 5+ years. Houses are way too expensive around here. We definitely want to have a life before we commit to all the burdens a house brings. We figured that we don't need a house until a kid is about 4-5 (starting school). We don't mind having a baby in an apt.

We are looking but arent stressing about it. If we have to rent for a while where we are after the wedding (w/roomates nonetheless!!) its no biggie.
We would love to have something b4 but we just cant find something up to our standards and in our $$ range. LI stinks!!

YES, AS A MATTER A FACT WE JUST STARTED LOOKING FOR A HOUSE OUT IN SUFFOLK. MY FI'S LEASE IS UP IN FEB SO INSTEAD OF RENEWING WE DECIDED TO BUY A HOUSE. WE 'VE SEEN ABOUT 7 HOUSES SO FAR, BUT MAN ARE THE PRICES HIGH. MY PARENTS TELL ME IF I WANT A SMALLER WEDDING THEY WOULD GIVE US $15,000 TOWARDS OUR DOWN PAYMENT...BUT THE TRUTH IS I REALLY WANT THE WEDDING. WEARE LOOKING IN THE $375-425,000 PRICE RANGE BUT OF COURSE WHAT I WANT IS AT LEAST 475-550,000 RANGE IF WE DO THAT I'LL BE MENAPAUSING BEFORE I CAN AFFORD KIDS.

We just purchased our home in August while planning our 3/06 wedding...It surely is tough to do both but we are so glad we were able to find something that we wanted....It is nice to know that we are paying bills but it is going towards something that we own rather then spending the money to rent somewhere...
If you can afford a house, go for it!!

We bought a house a few months before our wedding date & are in the process of remodeling it now & moving in our stuff a few days before the wedding. We are nuts right now, but after the wedding we will be married and in our new house so it will be worth it.
