I was never afraid until 9/11. Now, I am honestly afraid...I've flown since 9/11 and I keep my cool on the outside, but inside, I do panic.

Re: Is anyone afraid???
Deathly deathly afraid but I still travel everywhere but i literally go into panic attacks eveytime there's turbulance. I usually just take an Ambien before take-off so I'm out for the whole thing but I have anxiety over it for at least a week before. And no this has nothing to do with 9-11. I'm not afriad of terrotists, I'm afriad of plane crashes. Its bad and I wish there was something I could do about it. I used to love flying until about 3 or 4 yrs ago. I envy you girls who don't even give it a second thought....

Re: Is anyone afraid???
I didn't used to be but I have had freaked out anxiety over just about everything since 9/11. I never think it's terrorists that are gonna get me, it's more like mechanical failure. Crap falling off the wing, springs and bolts popping out of the engine. And I fly 4-5 times a year, easily.
We hit mad turbulence once on the way back to NYC from Texas. It was so bad they suspended drinks service and made the flight attendants sit down. I was hyperventilating so bad I almost passed out. FH took my pulse as a joke and it was 130. Seated on an airplane.
