Is anyone changing at the reception?

Is anyone changing at the reception?

I'm curious, i'm thinking about doing this cause i'll be in my dress all day and when I dance I would like to be in something more comfortable and maybe sexier I have a ballgown dress which I don't think it's that easy to dance in. Does anyone feel like this?Am I crazy to think like this?

Nope. I spent a lot of money on my bridal attire which also includes alteration on my bridal gown, crocoline/slip, headpiece, and veil. I waited so long to be a bride and wanted to keep that bridal look all day. I wanted the princess feeling to last all through the entire day and night to enjoy it to the fullest as possible. I wore it all day and all night until past 1am when DH and I arrived home. Our car service driver got lost from Bayside, Queens where our wedding reception venue was to our new home in Forest Hills, Queens (stupid driver driving around for 40 minutes in Queens totally cuteless).

I don't think it is such a crazy thing. If you want to change into a sexier, more comfortable dress for the reception I think you should do it. Think Trishta Rehn. Though keep in mind that some of your guests might miss the ceremony and if they don't get to see you in your gown they might be disappointed.

I on the other hand would not dream of changing into another dress, in fact I think my FI is going to have to pry me out of my dress at the end of the night. I spent way too much money on it and I love it so much that I want to wear it as long as possible! If I had the money to buy a second couture dress to change into maybe I would have bought a sleek and sexy bridal gown to change into, but I kind of like the idea of having just the one special gown.

The last hour of the reception I will change. Mainly, to give my mom my dress to take home since I am leaving the next day. But I think it would be a nice send off if we change and then leave ... I saw a cute dress at Jcrew. If it's still available, I am going to buy it

I've considered changing.... but into another wedding dress!!! Seriously... I actually tried on some less expensive strapless gowns as a possible 2nd dress for mid-reception because I don't think I will be able to dance in mine and I need to be able to shake my groove thang... there's nothing wrong with it and I've seen it done a few times... if you will feel more comfortable, go for it. Just wait until 1/2 through the reception, I would say so that all your guests get to see you wedding gown.

If you want to, then I think you should. It makes the dress buying process easier, should you see 2 dresses you love! Though I would imagine you would want something slinkier for the reception.

Although I do not have a dress yet, haven't even gone looking yet...I don't think I will be changing. I am sure I will be spending enough on the dress that I won't want to change.

If you want to change, I think you should! If it would make you feel more comfortable, then go for it. It is your day, do what you want!
