Albums are not included in our package. I would love to do it myself if I can make it look decent. Anyone else doing this?

I AM...of course my father used to be a photographer so its easier with his help.. but i found the MOST BEAUTIFUL book at hallmark.com.. its white and has a BEAUTIFUL black ribbon binding the album..it cant be engraved though and you have to mount the picutes..but thats easy.. I am going to MAKE the albums for my parents and his mother..if you have a craft store.. i have a micheals by me, they have classes on how to make books, and you choose the materials..I heard they are not that hard..but well see :)

What is the cost difference in having a photographer do the album and doing it yourself? I thought of doing it myself but I haven't put our album together from our trip during Christmas so I am banking on having another pile in my room of wedding photos!

Well, it depends on the album you get, and remember the photographer is going to up the cost so he makes a profit, and depending on how many you want. Heres my advise (only cause my dad has done this for 25 years) Get your photos, and make sure you keep proofs and negatives get yourself a nice album and go to a proffesional lab yourself and get the enlargments for your album yourself.. tricolor lab in Malverne is one i know does quality work..Also if it costs you 1.00 for a photo (example)the photographer will prob charge you 3 or 4$..so it could save you TONS of cash..

I put together my parents album myself. My Mother initially told me she didnt want an album ('it will only sit in the drawer'), just an 8x10. Once she saw our proofs she immediately asked how many do I get to pic?

So I ordered an album online and made one for our using some of our proofs. I think its saved us about $200 - $300.

It was the only place that I found really nice 5x5 albums.
Good Luck
