Is anyone doing the shuttle bus thing??

Is anyone doing the shuttle bus thing??

If so, are you doing it one way, or both ways, and how much is it costing you??

Fi thinks that getting it to go from the hall to the hotel after the wedding is a better idea, because people will be drunk at that point, and they can get themselves to the place easier. Does this make sense?

I actually just investigated this. My guests are staying at the Inn at Fox Hollow (wedding at the Crest Hollow). Fox Hollow suggested Alexis Limos. I called them. A 13 pass. shuttle van for one hour before and after the wedding will cost $300 including tip (just to give you an idea) I think it's definately worth it

I was confused because I didn't want to have to hold a shuttle bus all night...wasn't sure if the 2 or 3 hours they offered included the before and after.

This wedding crap is so much to think about my head is gonna explode!

I don't know where you are getting married but the Holiday Inn Express has a shuttle bus for free. I was thinking of blocking off rooms since my reception is at the Watermill and the Holiday Inn is only a couple of minutes away.

I used all island and they gave me a 14 passenger which we got only for the way back to the hotel and it was $48 including tip for each van. We had 4 vans which all showed up at the same time. It wasn't a party van, just a regular one w/about 3 or 4 rows of seats. Nothing fancy, but hey, it's still a safe ride for those drinking. It was fine and pretty cheap!

I was hoping to find two 24 passenger shuttle buses for 1 hour before one after. Haven't researched yet any ideas

We haven't booked anything yet but we're also doing a couple of vans from the hotel to the ceremony/reception (in the same place) and back. So far we've gotten quotes from 14 person van for $35 each way (no tip) to $60 each way including tip 11 person van.

We're still researching. But the $35 sounds the best so far.

I got a 55 passenger bus from Peter Pan charter buses.
It's coming to the church (NYC)at 4:30 bringing all the guests to Harrison House and then going back into the city at 12:30.
They charged me $350 for 8 hours.

We are thinking of it too. I will try All Island and see what they say. Thanks for the input!

Re: Is anyone doing the shuttle bus thing??

hey girls .... I'm definitely using a bus to & from the hotel for our guests. I've been at weddings where people have gotten them & we were very happy b/c we didn't have to worry about ANYTHING!!!

We used Camelot limos - EXCELLENT- and I was surprised at how reasonable it was. We got the bus for the whole day - 2pm until 2:30 AM (after party) for about $1000. We though it was worth it. A smaller time block would cost less. The buses are 14 & 28 pass. & they are immaculate. The cost per hour was $65 & $90.

We checked their credit & they were excellent. When we met, the owner was terrific, such a doll.

Definitely call! 731 - limo

Good luck

I have been calling companies all day and haven't found any of the deals on here! Any other suggestions? What is All Island's ph# - I called the ones I found on Verizon.com and they don't do bus charters. Thanks!

We used Classic (they are in Islandia) for a 55 passeneger bus. I think it was $800. They picked up from the Garden City Hotel and Holiday Inn in Carle Place and went to The Metropolitan (Glen Cove). Pick up was 6:30 and the bus left at the end of the reception (1 am). On the way back they went to both hotels and the house where the bridal party got ready. I think if you going to have a bus for the way home, it is best to do it both ways so that you don't have people stranded without their cars. We also had a lot of out of town guests and providing the bus meant they didn't have to rent a car.

Wow this post is old! I'm getting married in 2 weeks!

I booked Royalty limos for this, and got a very good deal on a van shuttle...check them out!
