IS ANYONE ELSE

Having problems getting their FMIL to go out and look for a dress for the wedding?

my mom has her dress already, so I asked FMIL what she was wearing(needed to know so I could order her flowers) and she said she hasnt looked yet and might just borrow a dress from her Aunt(who is 75 years old)
that's fine if you want to borrow a dress, but let me know what's going so I dont have to keep chaseing you down for an answer.

Then her husband(not FH father) wont give us an answer as to if he is wearing a tuxedo to the wedding or not. We want to get this stuff done now so we arent running around later, but yet we're not getting any answers.

What do I do? let it go and leave them to do it on their own or stay on them until they get off their butts and get it done?

any feedback or words of wisdom would be appreciated

thanks
Jess

sorry for the added stress.
They are adults, though, and it's up to them to get their own act together and to dress themselves. I don't mean this in a negative way at all, but it struck me as odd that you are involved in what your in-laws will be wearing.

I don't think it will be a big deal or affect your day in any negative way if your FMIL dress doesn't match the flowers you order for her.

Remember to focus on the bigger picture and enjoy your day (and your future hubby!)

The tux situation is easier to fix. I decided I wanted both Dad's in tuxes, picked them out and will tell FFIL when to get measured. He's a different breed though and gets a bit ahead of himself. As soon as we announced our engagement he said, 'Oh great, I took the crib out of the guest room yesterday'... I'm serious, that was his reply. Thanks, not too much pressure

As for FMIL drop hints about sales, or selection of dresses that you saw at a certain bridal salon. If that doesn't do it. Tell her you spoke to the place where you got your dress and they said, time is running out. when in doubt blame the urgency on something else.

Totally!

My mom was so excited to start going to all the bridal salons to look for her own dress and when I asked FMIL she just goes 'Oh I will just grab something off the rack'

Thats fine but now she is getting a white rose corsage.
