Is anyone else...

Is anyone else...

Feeling a little sad as the big day gets closer? All of a sudden I got sooo depressed about leaving my dad and the house and the dog...FH & I bought our house last April, so I thought the idea of moving would be no big deal...Even though we bought a house I have chosen to stay with my dad until the wedding. My dad is my best friend and we have been through so much together it's just really hard for me..I'm sorry to be whiny, I'm just going thorugh a hard time...

I think we're all going to go through that. DOn't feel alone. It's always hard to move onto a different chapter of your life even when it's so special and wonderful.

I think it's great that you stayed with your dad. Your dad will still be your best friend once you go and you'll still be his.

Thanks for the words of encouragement :) I know alot of girls feel htis way..I'm hoping I can deal with it so that as my wedding day gets closer I'm not a total basket case

I've thought about this as well. I find myself spending a lot more time with my parents. I watch tv everynight with my dad and go out with my mom a lot more than I used too. I'm going to really miss having them around like I do now. All i keep picturing is Father of the Bride where she is playing basketball with her dad,.. I always cry with that scene!

I am too. I think its because we take time and do all this planning - bc the wedding always seems so far away - and now that its approaching - everything is hitting me all at once. Now im moving in 2 weeks, im going to miss my family, my family dog, like now its going to HAPPEN

Totally understand...This is a time where you should try to spend more time with them..For me FH is very understanding and knows how strong the relationship with my dad is, so it makes it alot easier, but I have also had to make him realize it's not about him, this is something I'm going through. It's a process and I feel like it will pass and the relationship becomes stronger and oce you move out you will make time for quality time.

oh it will totally be stronger - its just the 'now' part of things. Its something u just have to jump in and do, and then afterwards it will be fine

I hear you. You have all the right to be. I moved out of my parents months after my dad died. I felt I too was leaving my mom. It was really hard. I also moved three hours away (we not live upstate). I go home all the time wedding planning but also just to see my mom. You have all the right to be sad. Its been two years and I talk to her everyday and go home everyother weekend but It still hard. (See I called it home, FH hates that, to bad). I wish you luck! What I would do is have him over once a week for din and a movie or just to hang.

I have been thinking about this as it gets closer to the wedding. I am going to miss sharing a room with my sister and even though my parents annoy me most of the time I think it is going to be wierd not having my mom, dad, brother and sister around all the time. Even though my sister is basically planning on being at my house all the time She even picked out her own towels for when she sleeps over
