For me, it's getting out of hand... I'm up until around 2:30, 3 in the morning. I'm in my bed, I'm tired, lights are out, but I can't sleep. All I think about are different wedding ideas, etc. I've tried everything... counting sheep, counting backwards, reading, watching TV, searching boring sites... can't seem to sleep. Last night I actually had to take a sleeping pill! Is anyone else going through this? Am I just overly excited.... I'm not a worry wart, so it's not that I'm nervous, I'm just excited.
Any suggestions on how to go to sleep?

I find that I wake up at night and my brain starts thinking and I have trouble going back to sleep I'm guessing it'll only get worse

Re: Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night?
I've had serious insomina problems in the past, but these days, I probably only have one night every month or two that's bad.
Staying in bed seems to be the worst thing. I've heard watching TV isn't good either--something about the flickering screen stimulating your brain. Reading something kind of boring, or taking a shower helps. Sometimes I'll try to sleep someplace different, like the couch. Not comfortable, but it often works.
The thing that really helped me awhile ago though was cutting back on caffeine. I still have coffee in the morning, but rarely past noon, and no soda, etc. at night.

Yep, I go through phases like that...sometimes excitement and sometimes stress. Like Annie, once my brain starts working and thinking, forget it, I might as well get up. Lately it is the packing and moving stuff that is bothering me more!

Re: Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night?
Last night at 11 pm I was so wound up that I did excercises so I would get tired.
I have a mini stepper and I pounded away for 10 - 15 min.
It worked ok but I still woke up early

Re: Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night?
I'm very fortunate I guess....I sleep easily! I'm on medication that causes drowsiness, so my Dr. recommends I take it at bedtime...zzzzzzzzzzz
If you workout don't workout so close to 'bedtime' try doing it earlier in the day. Maybe fall asleep with the TV on. Focus on the show or a book...try and get your mind off the wedding...
Good luck!

Re: Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night?
I was having the same problem as you for a few months! I was thinking about wedding stuff, work, personal life, etc. and my mind was racing! I was forcing myself to go to bed at 3 AM! Finally, I started exercising again and I have been sleeping better.

Re: Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night?
Yes definitely! I can't ever fall asleep before 1:30 and when I lay down my mind races...I've had a couple panick attacks during the past year thinking about school and the wedding. Someone told me to try to focus on my breathing and concentrate on taking deeper breaths each time...it helps sometimes.

Re: Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night?
I am the same way. There are so MANY things going on including wedding planning and booking this and that that I stay awake sometimes at 4 or 5 am and do not go back to sleep. I toss and turn and can't sleep. I try to go to bed early like before 10pm I can't keep my eyes open and try exercise regularly cause it does help with the stress. I get up (try to anyway) at 5:30/6 to go running-trust me it helps.

Re: Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night?
I haven't been able to sleep early or well ever since this whole planning hoopla started. I'm really excited but nervous at the same time. I'm a big worry wort so I stay up thinking about finances, to do lists, favors, flowers, etc. Sometimes I keep the tv on a really boring channel so I can just get really sleepy. And of course, I'm on LIW way too late every night.
