Is anyone else stressing over finding BM dresses???

I never thought this would be so hard. It has been harder than finding my own gown.

Anyone else having a hard time finding the right one?

I'm stressing out just looking online for them! Do you have a wide-range of body types in your party? I do, that's why I'm freaking out and trying to find a good idea before I even find my own dress!

It was the hardest decision I had to make with the wedding, next to the HM (which I'm stressing now).

I will give you the advice that my MOH gave me that worked like a charm. Don't necessarily go with the websites. What looks good on a website might look horrendous in person.

Go to the stores and try on the BM dresses yourself. Do you feel comfortable in it? Do you look good in it? Can you picture someone in a different body type pulling it off? Does this dress come in the exact color I'm looking for? Do I like the material?

When you have gone through this process you will see how fast you are able to narrow the choices down.

I was but then I went my shop with my mom to make the final color choice so I can find a designer at least. I want aqua and that limited the amount of dresses available. The perfect color came up with only two long dresses. I did not like one and loved the other! But was very worried that my girls would not like it but we did a try on with three of them and it's all a go go!!!

I would advise you go to a shop with as many girls as you can get available, make a lunch day. Have them start trying on. You cannot only go by online because every dress looks completely different on. I have seen my bm dress a few times and thought it would never work with my varied girls. But that day with my mom, I tried it on, being the biggest, and it was surprisingly flattering!

I have different body types in my party but that's not what I'm really worried about. My color is silver and each designer has a different shade. Some are too light for pictures. So trying to find a dress I like in the correct color is driving me crazy!!!!!!!

I really have to make a date with some or all of my BM's and get shopping.

NOt stressing YET...I have narrowed down my choices to about 2-3. I had my MOH come with me and then I am going to find time for the other girls to try them on

I have different sizes and shapes and ages in my BP. I did not have a color set in stone walking into the bridal salon and that made it MUCH easier. I went in thinking 'red' in the back of my mind but we ended up with navy. I am anti-theme and anti-cutsey-everything-matching. They chose the dresses they each liked and we picked the color we liked the best based on the season - winter.

Picking the BM dresses was so much harder than I thought it would be. Much harder than picking out my own dress. But I finally figured it out, thank goodness! All my BM's kept asking me when I was just going to pick something already!!

When I went to the store to look at some, I turned to a stranger and said I will pay you money if you would just pick out some dresses for my BM's to wear. The other bride looked at me and said I feel the same way!

Re: Is anyone else stressing over finding BM dresses???

It's not the finding a dress that I'm stressed about. All my BMs love the dress I chose. It's the ordering that is so stressful. We drove all the way from MD to NY to get all my BMs together and we went to Charmets. They were supposed to carry the dress but they didn't have a sample and they didn't even have any fabric swatches for me to pick colors. So I drove all that way with my BMs so they could measure them and not even order the dresses! I have to wait for them to send me the swatches in the mail

Sorry, had to rant!

Re: Is anyone else stressing over finding BM dresses???

I found dresses I loved in the very first bridal magazine I picked up. Then I found a dozen more online that I liked. Only my MOH lives in NY, so it's impossible to get them all together. Luckily, I am the same size as one BM, and my MOH is the same size as the other BM. My MOH and I tried on all the dresses that I picked, and I really only liked two of them. One of them doesn't look good on one BM, but the other did look good on her. I'm still waiting for the other BM to try on the one that looks good on MOH & BM. I thought that would be the end of it until the new issue of Modern Bride came out. There is a brand new dress (not even in salons yet) that is gorgeous! I sent all the girls the pictures of that dress, as well as my first choice and asked them to vote. I'll see what happens.

This was the hardest thing to do!!! I finally found a dress with the cute rap in the front (So, if you're big it covers and if you're small it goves you a shape)

I went with Raylia designs..I got it in turquoise (great designer if you're interested in summer colors!!)

This defintely was the hardest thing to go thus far!

when in doubt just go with 1 other person and take the rest of the girls when necessary.

UGH!

I think the BM dresses are one of the hardest things, because now you have to please others. I have all body types and really want all of the girls to wear the same dress because there is so much detail on my gown, that if I had all different dresses for the BM standing next to me, we would look like a mess! Trying to be simple, yet flattering.

Re: Is anyone else stressing over finding BM dresses???

I agree with you all. I have already gotten 'suggestions' from all the girls about what they like and don't like. I found one that I really like and I tried it on today. I have 2 OOT girls and I am worried about everyone ordering.

I finally made an appt with the three girls that are in NY to go to a place in a few weeks to have them try on. But...one of the girls is 6 months pregnant and another one is trying for a baby.

I hope we all find something soon!!!!!!!!!

I really hope I find something soon.

I have in my mind what I want, I just have to find it. I think I may go with separates.

was very hard....and it took over 2 months to get all of them to get theirs ordered

its like- if you want to be in my bp, why is it so hard to go into a store for a sec to get measured

Re: Is anyone else stressing over finding BM dresses???

It was very hard....definitely harder than my gown. I just took my MOH w/ me after looking online & narrowing down our choices. Then after being set on one dress MOH started looking again & we ended up going w/ another choice. HOWEVER, we have yet to order them & the other 4 girls have yet to try on the dress, etc. So I'm HOPING this is the dress!!!
