Is anyone else's job like HIGH SCHOOL?!?

I work in a medical office - my boss just confronted me and requested a 'private meeting'. Mind you, there are like, 8 employees.

I follow her into the kitchen, she closes the door, and then proceeds to say 'Mrs XXX (co-worker) says that you haven't been working lately. She said you take charts, carry them around to look busy, then leave them to be filed. Why are you doing this?'

She never gave me a chance to dispute the accusation, and what pisses me off even more is that Mrs XXX just went on a FREAKIN CRUISE for 2 weeks and I covered her hours AND mine the whole time. I worked 54 hours a week while she was gone! I do more work than anyone there, and the patients are the witnesses.

I have no idea what this woman is up to, so I called her on it - she claims (surprise) that she never said anything.
SHE IS 45 YRS OLD!

ughhhhh I work with freshmen. I've heard it doesn't get better...

I hate that! They do that in my place too, the people that actually do thier work are the ones that they pick on, and the laziest people what have been there forever they never say anything to.

Because you are doing your job, you are a threat to them so they must do something to hold you down!

OMG...I quit my last job because of crap like that. Some people need drama and some do it to take the focus off them. Mrs XXX might be the one not working and she accuses you so that no one notices her!!!

Yes, my job is like high school, complete with clicks and all.

I wold definitely speak to your boss and Mrs. XXX and ask them to give you a concrete example, actual proof, that you have been slacking. That's a horrible thing to accuse a co-worker of doing. Sorry!

Yes, TOTALLY, to the point where I've decided to just eat lunch alone, and not try to be too friendly with anyone. I deal with a lot of people who will talk sh*t about anyone. But at least it's helping me become less gossipy.

OK, I spent the day there and kept track of everything I did - I wrote every little thing down.

I entered data on 24 new patients in 90 MINUTES....I impressed myself!

That is exactly why I am going in next week (I'm on maternity leave) to tell them to bite me cuz I am not coming back!!!
