is anyone else's mom having a hard time ...**Now with update**
finding a dress? I love my mom ... she is the best most sweetest mom in the whole world. i think i have only seen her angry twice in my whole life! anyway ... she cant find a dress and its driving me nuts! she is leaning towards a nice long gown from lord and taylors ... is that ok or does she need to get a crazy mother of the bride dress with beads and pearls on it because she is the mother of the bride? where is your mom getting her dress from?
Well we finally found one dress that we both like. i dont know if this is it yet because this dress only comes in brown butttt finally we both agreed which felt good. Here it is! check it out.
YES!!!!! But it is because my mom is very picky. She is driving me nuts! I am going to take her to EStelles and hope we have better luck there!

My mom got her dress from Rk bridal. The sales lady helped her pick it out. It's a MOB dress but I really don't think it looks like one. It's very flowy and sexy. Its not typical. I think your mom should get whatever dress she feels beautiful in. If she feels good about it, she'll have that glow. I think the L and T dress will be fine as long as it is formal.

Hi, Michelle!!!! I just spoke to Donna tonight about her and Debi, helping me find one!!!! I think I'll check at King of Prussia, because Lancaster doesn't have much. And I'm just as clueless this year as I was last year, trying to find a dress for Debi's wedding!!! I totally understand where your Mom is coming from!!!! Mary MOB

My mom just bought her dress today at RK Bridal.. It is not flashy at all because my mom is still very young (in her 40s) and she didn't want something to make her look 'older'. She said they had a lot of really nice dresses there so I would recommend checking them out!

Mich my mom drove me crazy with her gown and she ended up ordering a Jovani gown from the same bridal store she had gotten her dress for my brothers wedding. I do know that Joe's mom hasn't gotten a dress yet and she might go to Estelle's to see what she can find. Did your mom look at RK? What about David's Bridal?
There is nothing wrong with her buying a gown off the rack from L&T...if you want to look further, try the L&T in manhattan, they have a huge selection of gowns.
Good Luck

my fmil is having a hard time. I'm not sure what area you are in but a lady at work told me to go to Totally You in Bellmore or SugarPlum in Lynbrook. Good luck!

My aunt went to Estelle's this week and did real well for my cousin's wedding. My mom went to a place T Otally You in I think Bellmore, she is happy so far. For my mom we didnt want a typical 'mother of the bride ' dress and I think we were successful, still apropriate to her age and figure (or as she says 'how do you find a dress to fit a fire hydrant'), but not so matronly.

It's totally OK for your mom to get a dress from L&T. She can wear whatever she is comfortable in, it doesn't have to have tons of beading and stuff bc she is the MOB. My mom's style is very simple and she did not want a lot of beading, which hers did not have. She purchased it from Bridal Couture in Manhasset, which is of no help to you bc now it's closed.

About your mom's dress choice - as long as the two of you are okay with it, it's fine. My mom isnt a beads and sequins mom either!

I agree!!! My mom is going to be 65 when we get married and has no flair at all. As long as she is comfortable in what she wears I'm fine.

My mom is struggling as well. She went to Helen's Bridal yesterday, where I got my gown, with no luck. I see a lot of ladies have gotten MOB dress at RK Bridal. My mom is going to absolutely hate the idea of going into the city, but she may not have a choice.
