If so, do you have it @ the reception?rehearsal dinner? should it be a suprise?

I was going to surprise my FH with a groom's cake at the rehearsal dinner...but found out that the restaurant I'm having it at won't allow any outside cake...so I'm not having one.

I am having mine at the rehersal dinner because I think he would enjoy a little more than because it will be a smaller intimate gathering.

We are! My family is from down South and it is a tradition. We are going to give the cake to the guests to take home.
