Just wondering. I figure people must but maybe there's less of a demand?

Most of the RH I looked at were offering awesome awsome prices for this day but I figured I'd rather pay a little more than have that date, jmo

Re: Is anyone getting married September 11th?
We were offered a great deal on prices for that date. However, it was not one we'd consider - it was just a date that the RH gave us as available and at a deep discount. I wouldn't judge someone else for doing it - I'm all about bargain hunting; my date is Father's Day with the same discount applied as the one on September 11th - but it just wouldn't feel right for FH and I to get married on that day.

I think unless you lost someone very close to you...it gives people a reason to celebrate that day again!! I wouldn't pass it over just because of the date.
My grandparents got married on Pearl Harbor Day...which I'm sure in the 40's was frowned upon as it was 'their' September 11th...but I'm sure half of us can't even say what day Pearl Harbor Day was...

It might not be remembered 50 years from now, but I wouldnt feel right celebrating anything on such a somber day. Plus you might have a lot of people who feel the same, especially living in new york where many people know at least one person who has been affected personally by such a tragedy.

I hear catering halls giving awesome deals just to book. I personally cannot do it but If I were invited to one on that day, it wouldn't bother me.
I just wouldn't want my wedding and anniversaries on such a sad date in history.

I know someone who got married on 09/11 this year. I thought it was a little insincere just to save a few bucks...

If I didn't live in NY I might consider it...but its a really somber day here and I think it always will be so I could never.

Its unfair to assume that's why they chose that date...it could be a special day to them for other reasons. Maybe it was their anniversary or the anniversary of deceased grandparents they wanted to honor...

I know they were giving major discounts for this day, but too many of my guests knew people who lost their lives so I just didn't feel like it would be right.

I dont think i could have done it... but i can see why someone would want to celebrate something that day... i mean, life should keep going on... it may make someone feel better to celebrate something joyful that day rather than something sad...

Re: Is anyone getting married September 11th?
Every RH we went to and we basically hit EVERY RH in suffolk county & then Nassau, offered us an amazing deal on 9/11. There was NO WAY we would do it, FH is FDNY but even if he wasnt, I dont think I would. I, like so many others was changed forever b/c of happened that day in so MANY different ways. I agree that it is important for ppl to 'move on' from grief but IMO regarding 9/11, it should be to volunteer for the day or go out of your way to do something special for someone else.

Re: Is anyone getting married September 11th?
Well Sept 11, 2011 is the 10 year anniversary so I don't know how people are going to feel about that. I would say in 30 years people might be a little more comfortable but I think it's still too soon.

It is such a sad day that I am not sure I want my wedding on that day. I would not feel comfortable with it.
