wedding insurance...wow...now I've heard everything...I agree, what does it cover? roughly, how much does it cost? ...so many questions.

Re: is anyone gettng...........

from what i've read, it can cost between 200-1000 depending on how much coverage you want (based on your wedding expenses)

Re: is anyone gettng...........

im getting mine through my car insurance..we also have renters insurance through it too..our agent is splitting it up into 10 payments ( it all has to be paid off within 6 weeks of wedding date) $40 a month and it gives me 60,000 in reception, 10,000 in travel, 15,000 in vendors and if any rented items get damaged and anything else..like pictures not developing it covers getting my whole bridal party together to re-shoot

so about $400 total

not bad considering the amount you are spending. It seems logical in your situation too with the OOT guests and having a winter wedding. I LOVE the winter (one of the rare few)...I wanted a winter wedding, I always said it would be the happiest day of my life if it snowed on my wedding day. ..but, my whole family is out of state too and FH's family was worried they wouldn't make it in for the wedding if it snowed...so...spring it is. Well actually, my FSIL said spring doesn't start until April 21st...wonder if thats true....wow...I am babbling....

spring is march 21st and i loove winter too..i wouldnt have it any other way..if it snows on my wedding day that will be great..cause all the guests will already be there..and we met in feb and it would have been my mom and dads 35th anniversary too

Private Events
You planned the perfect event. Now plan for the unexpected with Fireman's Fund® Private Event coverage for your wedding, anniversary party, bar mitzvah, or other celebration.

A basic policy starts at $195 for cancellation, postponement, and additional expense coverage to give you more control over the 'what ifs.' Coverage applies when things happen beyond your control, such as inclement weather or illness of the honoree.

Planning an event is stressful and time consuming enough. Consider optional coverages for:

Liability: protects you from host liquor liability and other exposures, such as bodily injury, property damage or personal injury that occurs at your event.
Attire, gifts and rented property: covers physical loss or damage.
Photos or video: pays to re-stage and re-assemble key participants in case something goes wrong.

I actually read an article once that put wedding insurance on a list of ten insurances you don't need, I can't seem to find the link and I don't remember their reasoning either, so I'm not much help!
I probably won't purchase it but I think it would be smart for winter weddings.
