I've never seen the show but recently saw the TV ad for the movie ... was the guy from Law & Order in the original Bway cast?

i cant wait to see it!!

i saw the play 3 times (2x in america, once in Ireland).. and its Amazing. I keep trying to get DH to come with me to see it, but i havent had much luck yet.

But, with the movie-- i think he may compromise to see that as opposed to going to the broadway show

I'll be seeing it! Probably not with DH though. I'm sure I'll find someone to see it with me though

my Fh actually loved the play - he said it was the only b'way show he ever liked (or stayed awake through ).

I can't WAIT to see the movie, and of course, he'll be taking me

It comes out the day after Thanksgiving, right?

I'm going to see it. DH was a musical theatre major so he has no problem with it. I am hoping that I can find the magic in the show that was sorely missing when I saw it last year. I think that seeing most of the original cast reprise their roles might bring it to life for me. The cast I saw was spotty at best. I am curious to see Rosario as 'Mimi'. She is a great actress, but I saw her in 'Two Gentleman of Verona' and she has no voice. Luckily, that can be fixed in a recording studio.

Well the original cast was incredible - I saw most of them the first time I saw the show - and they're doing the movie for the most part, so I think you'll be in for a treat.

I didn't see Two Gentlemen of Verona, but I think Rosario held her own vocally in the Josie and the Pussycats movie (which btw is MUCH better than it looked, def. worth a rental), although she didn't have any lead vocals that I can remember.

I think she's a much better choice than Daphne Rubin Vega though - Daphne didn't look like she was 15 but actually 19 when she originally did the role - she looked 35 then!!!!!!!

Oh, I agree about Daphne. I the reason that she is not in the cast of the movie is because she just looks way too old. I'm sure that Rosario will do a good job, but I would have liked the role to have gone to one someone that has more of a musical theatre background. I felt the same with the casting of Renee Zellwiger In 'Chicago'. It is my own personal issue with movie stars taking over B'Way and getting the musical roles in films, but hey at least most of this cast are B'way vets.

I can't wait to see it!!!! I just really hope people don't sing along with the movie the entire time..that would completley ruin it for me :( I am taking DH with me...I made him see the show and he actually enjoyed it!

Amen to that!!!! I hate when I go to see a movie or B'way show and the people behind me are singing. I understand the urge, but wait till the movie/show is over please. During 'Little Shop Of Horrors' the people behind me were singing along with the performers OFF PITCH. I finally had to ask them to please stop.

I definitely want to go. I heard the added and removed songs, so we'll see. I'm worried about bringing FH to see it though, because if it *****, he definitelyt won't let me drag him to see it on B'way..and I really want him to see it, even though he really doesn't think he'll like it
