I did. I almost cried when I saw him. He looked like an adorable penguin!!! Go to a good place. FH thought that he would be in a 3 button tux, but the salesperson said that based on his size, the two button tux would look better. Not to mention that it showed off more of the tie/vest combo. He also steered us away from white shirts because my dress isn't white. All of the men are in off-white shirts. Fh would not have known to do that as he doesnt know about my dress - though he might now!

They also told us not to get him a WHITE tie and vest but rather off-white for the same reason. Pictures would look funny.

we went just to look and plan on going back together in a couple of months to finalize everything

as much as i love him he can barely dress himself and i am supposed to trust him to dress good on our wedding day when i dont even get to see him that morning? i dont think so

We went last weekend and narrowed it down to three choices. We're making all of the decisions together for the wedding.

We used Foresto Tuxedos in Mineola. They are family owned and operated for as long as I can remember. LOL now that I think about it my brother and father rented from them in 1975 for my brothers Bar Mitzvah - thats how long we've used them!

Anyway, tell him that you may not see the difference in color with the naked eye, but when and if you are under bright lights, as you will be when your pics are taken, the white versus off white makes a difference(at least to me it does and my vision is darn good for an old timer). I could see it when I tried on white shoes with my dress. I have to dye from white to off shite because my feet show when I walk.

Mind you, the shirt isnt ivory, but slightly off white. No matter which shop you go to with the exception of a 'Warehouse', any decent suit/tuxedo salesperson would steer you right. It is usually the older more experienced salespeople who know their stuff.

I am also the anti-bridal looking bride. There is absolute under no circumstances NO DEAD WHITE at my wedding at all. Only cream color or off white. Good luck but if he is insistent, then it may not be worth the fight.

There is no way in **** I would let him go alone. I have something specific in mind for the BP and I'm not leaving it up to him. For his tux, I will let him try on whatever he wants, and as long as he looks good he can wear what he wants, but the BP, my territory!

We went a few Saturdays ago just to get an idea. The people laughed at us that we were going so early for a wedding 7 months away. Then they sort of walked away and said just look at the books. So we got up and walked out.

Anyway once i have a swatch of my dress (later this month) I'll go again with him. He wants my opinion

I agree.

No... my FH said since I got to pick my dress he gets to pick his tux... fair enough!

He's going to go with my Dad sometime this month!
