Is anyone having problems getting motivated to get to the gym?
I have about 8 months to lose the 20 pounds I want to. I'm about 137 now and my height is 5'4' I went from being that strict person who ate very healthy and working out 6 days a week ( this was about 3 years ago) to the total opposite. I don't know why I'm having such a problem.. Every weekend I say I'm going to start working out and then something else comes up. I know that once I start getting into the mode I will continue but gosh.. I am so lazy lately.. I think partially bc I also have chronic fatigue syndrome.. and all I ever feel is tired!

Sorry, I just got back into it.
I have noticed that one of the $1.99 trashy gossip magazines works well for keeping me occupied on the elliptical.

137 at 5'4 isn't so bad- it's no over weight
117 is going to be very hard for you to get to at that height- and it;s going to be very hard to get to- I can barley get to 117 at 5'2
check out the slimdown board the girls are very motivated there

I told myself on October 21, 2005... one year from my wedding date... that I was going to start going back to the gym. Well, it is now March 27 and I still haven't gotten there. Maybe I forgot how to get there??????!!!!! I think I will start this weekend!

I am totally in sync with you girls! I keep making excuses too like it's too cold, I don't want to take the kids out, blah blah. And then I tell myself 'well you just had a baby'... yeah 3 MONTHS AGO!!! and the wedding is in 4 months... If anybody can help me get motivated, please do!!

i know how you feel. I bet you'll feel motivated when your dress comes in. Just do your best, and don't drive yourself nuts. You're already a healthy weight for you height.

Re: Is anyone having problems getting motivated to get to the gym?
YES, I am having a HUGE problem getting motivated! My metabolism takes a while to loose, I want to loose 12 lbs I am 130 right now at 5'3. 3 years ago I was in a motivated state of mind and I got down to 118 in 10 months. I was really happy with my body then. It's been really hard b/c I am not a helathy eater (don't eat ANY veggies) but I just joined a gym last week and I worked out this past sat. so I'm TRYING.....(although I am having banana bread right now...yummm) lol It's really hard when you're used to a certain lifestyle. change is hard! Good luck with your struggle! We'll try to keep each other motivated!!! XOXOXOXO Kitty

i haven't had a problem being motivated-- but my schedule is pretty full so it's hard sometimes...
i didn't sign up for the gym to lose weight-- it was more just to tone and maintain...
but i feel that since i got my IPOD it helps SO much because before i would get bored-- this time, my music keeps me occupied and energized, maybe try that??

Re: Is anyone having problems getting motivated to get to the gym?
I felt the same exact way you do, so I got a personal trainer, somehow knowing someone is waiting on me gives me no other option bu to show up...LOL
Sometimes it helps me to look at pictures of others with the type of body I want to achive, it inspires me.
Start slowly and one you get into the routine it'll get easier, but I know its HARD!!!
