Is anyone having their gown custom made?

My fiancee is looking to have her's done. Any suggestions?

Well this might be more work then she'd like but...

Bridesave.com does custom cuts ( on certain dresses). If she goes to a bridal salon and finds one she likes, tries it on and the whole jazz. She can then order it from them.

I am seriously considering doing this. the quoted me the lowest price for my dress. I've been to three bridal salons, and the lowest price I was quoted was $1300, plus alterations. I found it on bridesave.com for $771 and that's custom cut. I figure if I need any last min alterations, I could take it to Lilliettes in Baldwin, they have some really great stemstresses.

Hope it helps, but I also understand if she's reluctant to purchase her gown online.

I ordered my gown but my mother is a dress maker and besides doing some minor alterations to the gown she is going to re design the sleeves. We ordered extra fabric and matching beads and rosettes from the designer and she is going to make it into a long sleeve gown for me.

So it is sorta cusom made. I can tell you one thing as a dress maker my mother kinda shys away from making bridal gowns b/c it is very difficult to find fabric, beading, lace etc that you like and when you do find it, it comes out being very very expensive besides the time and effort into making the gown. Alot of times for the cost of the materials alone you can find a gown and adjust it to your liking.

She is making her gown for my wedding though.

My MOH is having her wedding gown custom made for her wedding. The name of the woman is Bevon Dillon and she also does bridesmaid dresses (she ordered our BM dresses from her also). She is located in New York City and so far has been great to work with.

I can get you her number and info. I think my friend is paying approximately $5,000 for her wedding dress and our BM dresses were about $250 not including alterations.

If you could send that info my way I'd appreciate it and would share it on here if it's ok with your friend and you.
