Is anyone LEASING from FORD?

Is anyone LEASING from FORD?

Or have you leased from them recently?

Was there/Is there an early option to end the lease (I forget what it's called)? How early could/can you break the lease without penalty?

Thanks!

I'm not positive but I think BIL said he could do it within 4 months of the termination date. You can call up Ford to know for sure.

I just turned in my Mustang in June and I don't remember there being a way I could have turned it in early with no penalty.

The penalty is $200 plus the difference between the unpaid adjusted capital cost and the fair market value of the car.

I have no idea what 'unpaid adjusted capital cost' means, but when I tried to get out of my lease, I remember the penalty being pretty substantial. It probably depends on how early you want to terminate it.

Hope that helps!

Oh good heavens no! It's actually FHs and it's a Focus... pretty good too!

What car did you have??
TwoBugs Posted:

Re: Is anyone LEASING from FORD?

Umm, I had a Focus...

It was the first model year, though - everyone says not to get a car the first year it's made....now I know why! It had a slew of problems, which is why I wanted to break the lease early, which is why I knew the answer to your question, which is why I throw around terms like 'adjusted capital' and 'fair market value'.

Mr Big Boots FITS in a Focus????

Only if we use a shoehorn!

Twobugs... you just schooled me! Was 2002 the first year of the Focus? FH has a 2003, it's not bad, he loves it, I'm indifferent. We have 2 cars and his work truck, so we only need 1 car and we're trying to either sell my cheesy-@ss Echo or break his lease... but the sale of my echo is possibly falling through soooo... *sigh*!

I've never even heard of an Echo, as far as cars go, at least.

Isn't that an itty bitty car too?

Indeed it is itty bitty! It's a toyota and way cheap, but pretty fun, especially since it's stickshift... and because Mr Boots feels effiminate driving it!
