So FH and I know we want to move down to FL after we get married. A lot of my school friends all moved down south and just out of NY because it's too expensive to live here- even before the economy started getting this bad. As it is we each still live with our parents because we can't afford to live together. We want to get a place down in FL, but we're not sure how we're gonna be able to do it just before the wedding. we saw some homes and apartments for rent when we went down last month, but they probably won't be still available in August/September after our wedding. So i guess i'm just wondering how we are going to be able to have the time and money to break away from all the wedding plans to go down to FL to find a place to live. I guess it just makes more sense to do it all after the wedding. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

There are so many times I would like to get out of New York. I would especially love to move down south. I love the south. However, its not an option as FH works for the city.
However, if it came down to it..I'm not sure I could picture living outside of New York. It's not just a place to live- its a way of life!

I am going to probably end up moving to CT until we get more settled after the wedding. My FH is getting his electrial license there since that is where he lives right now. But we want to move down south when we get a change the northeast is getting way to expensive.

Fh and I will be moving to Maryland by 2011. If it was up to me we would have been out of here years ago but I'm waiting for him to finish school, then we'll buy a house down there.

It really depends where our lives take us. Right now we're doing just fine. But I love the South, and would love to move there some day...

maybe a few years or maybe a year after we get married, we want to get out of long island. probably move somewhere less crowded in upstate ny or somewhere really suburban in new england

We recently bought a condo in FL. The prices are not bad. I live back and fourth between NY and FL but by the time of the wedding I will be living there. It is tough to save for a wedding and purchase a house so I wish you luck.

I would love to stay in NY, but it doesn't seem like we will be able to buy a house on LI. We'll probably end up in GA (where his family is) or SC (where my parents are going to retire to). I'll def miss my family though

Looking, at CT and NJ right now. Definitely out of NY. Too expensive. Plus I'm going back to school for my PhD after the wedding, so we have to consider school options when moving.

Hopefully to CA, but FH is still on the fence about it so nothing is definite. I've wanted to live there my entire adult life, my whole family is there but i understand its a big move for FH. One minute hes totally all about it, and the next he wants to stay. just really frustrates me cuz i would do ANYTHING to get out of here but sometimes i feel like its just not gonna happen.

Well I guess you can say I'm already out of state (i'm from CA), but my fiance and I will be making a move out of state right after our wedding. We don't know where yet because the army will station him after he graduates (1 day before our wedding).... We find out in Feb. and I'm soooo anxious!!!
