What is the lowest rate everyone is finding - it sucks that the rates are going up tomorrow!!

I am looking now...it sucks. Everyone I spoke to wanted me to lock in yesterday before they went up...but I want to shop around. Hoepfully...I can get one today before anything drastic happens.
It depends on what type of loan you are looking at to compare rates. What are you looking for?

For a 30 year fixed...I got rates from 6.1 to 6.4...but I'm thinking of going with an adjustable for a lower rate....but I don't know...there's too many choices

We were quoted from 6.1 to 6.5. We went with the SONYMA program (if you make less than $88,000 combined you are eligible, so long as the house is under a certain price), which is 5% fixed and they pay closing costs

the rates went up today 1/4 of a point. i know there was speculation but they did go up!

sonyma.... house price 343,790 or less with salary 88,000 combined... but its a 5% rate
i just got an email from on of the mortgage companies off lending tree and the email said rates.... just dropped....

we locked in yesterday at 6.5. don't know if that's something to be happy about but at least we wont be paying higher. I HATE LI!!!! haha!!!

I locked in on Tues (6/29) at 6.25, which is 30yr fixed no points. I was nervous with the adjustable because I dont think the rates will be going down again for a while (if ever).

I hope this will make you feel better, but even though the federal interest rate was raised, that doesn't directly affect the fixed mortgage rate. The interest rate increase will affect short term rates like - variable mortgage rates, auto loan rates, credit card rates, interest in savings accts and cd's (which is actually good for us!) etc....
Mortgage rates have been increasing for months -- even though the Federal interest rate has stayed the same. So don't feel bad!

i totally agree. my brother bought a house about 3 months ago and got 5.5!!! here i am paying 6.5 three months later. so they have been going up already!

I am working with Family Mtge in Rocky Point and my mtge came from ABN-AMRO, which happens to be a very good bank.

Even though the Fed raised their rates... this hasn't affected the Morgage rates yet.
