is anyone looking to switch jobs?

cant stand where i am now.. need to find a head hunter pronto

im unsure though whether to wait til after the wedding or look now...

anyone else in the same boat?

I was in the same boat and this past June I switched jobs. To be honest, although it has been tough coz I took a pay cut, at least I am working and getting a paycheck. If I had stayed at my other job, I would have been laid off.

So it is really up to you. If you think you can wait it out, I would say stay until you get married and then start to look. But if you think you can't take it anymore, be proactive and look.

right now. there's a lot of work and thankfully I have seniority...i'm just tired of the atmosphere/the routine...grrr its frustrating... i want a change but i'm afraid of losing the $$$ that we need for the wedding..

ahhhh my life revolves around this wedding...

I totally understand. I am lucky that FH works two jobs that he can pick up some of the costs coz he knows I took a large pay cut. So if you are afraid of losing the money, i would say stick it out....

I like my job but after 8 years its getting very stale. Trying to make moves but having no luck. I feel your frustration...

Don't we all wish we could just quit our jobs, stay home and focus and plan our weddings...and still get paid!!!!! I know I do!

if you are really unhappy you should speak with your FH & see where he stands. he may feel its better for you to be jobless for a little while then to be unhappy.

i was in a similar situation not long ago. i had been at a job for 4 years. the first 3.5 i was so happy, then my boss turned into a monster of some kind. i started hated going to work. would hide in the bathroom for 10 minutes at a time to cry. then he cut me from full time to 3 days a week during the summer. meanwhile i was still in school & he knew that my fall schedule i would only be in around my school schedule.
so, i spoke to FH & we agreed that me being unhappy really wasn't worth it.

i was so lucky that i left because within 6 months of me leaving the entire staff was laid off.

i hate my job but i make pretty good money...i'm waitressing and bartending at a restaurant (been doing this for 8 yrs through college!)...i plan on going for my masters, but in the mean time i'm stuck here bc i won't make better money elsewhere! ahhhh

I am in the exact same boattt its like I make so much money in what I do, but I needddd a new job, but cant really take the money break until after the wedding, but I keep telling myself when CAN you take a money cut?
