I'm not. We're just going to go to dinner next weekend. No gifts though - I told him not even flowers.

We agreed not to give each other gifts. I got him a card and a bag of candy. Although he surprised me with earrings the other night ( we celebrated this weekend because I have class on Tues night and he is working that night) I don't think it's a big deal since we are all saving

No gifts here. FH is in Finland right now. We are meeting in Paris on his way back, so that is our gift to each other.

I told my DH that since he can't top what he gave me for V-day last year (he proposed), that he not get me anything this year
we're saving for a house anyway

I'm not!! We don't do gifts for V-day, we almost didn't do them for Xmas either but then he changed his mind at the last minute!!
I've never been big on buying gifts for this holiday, I like to make him something or just do something nice for each other.

i only got him a card and a small gift (under $10), although he'll probably foolishly go all-out with flowers and chocolates.

Nope, we don't 'do' Valentines Day. In fact DH sent me beautiful flowers to work on Friday for the anniversary of our engagement (which was yesterday). Because he didn't want to send them today since he didn't want people to think they were for V-Day.

I am not ( I did mail him a card) no gifts though-we just went to contract on a house and with the wedding and all it just seems silly.

That's funny!
Mine has been commenting on my spending since we now have a joint Amex (most of the stuff was home related expenses, trips to the supermarket and whatnot). I just got him a cook book for our crock pot. He made a stew yesterday and was looking at the little pamphlet that came with it. I think it's in my own best interest to give him more ideas of things to cook in the crock pot!

We never do gifts for V-day just usually dinner and cards. Our birthdays, anniversary and xmas are all at the end of the year so we are pretty much gifted out by V-day.
This V-day is good though my boss was great and got us a gift certificiate to Peter Lugers when we got engaged so we are doing that tomorrow night. Very excited.
