I ussually wear dark colors when I get manicures like dark reds or purples.
My MOH and BMs are saying that I can't do a dark color the day of and that I should do a french.
Is this really a big deal?

Re: Is anyone not doing
i think you can do whatever you want to do the day of your wedding.
Yes I think most brides do either french or a light color but no one's saying you can't do a dark color if that's what you prefer.
I personally will be going light or french but that's because I'm REALLY pale and dark polishes just aren't flattering on me.

I think the reason most brides don't use dark colored nail polish on their wedding day is those annoying marks that nail polish can make when it rubs against something ... do you know the ones I am talking about? I'd be afraid to have those appear on my dress.

I never thought about those marks that dark nail polish leave. Very good point. Maybe I can find a light brownish/pink color. Thanks for the advice!

What about a champagne color, to kinda stick with the fall theme or taupe, there is a middle ground. Tell your BM's just because everyone else wears a french, doesn't mean you have to as well!

At the moment I have decided against a french manicure. I love them on other gals but everytime I get one I o.c.d. on the lines...being too thin or too thick. So I'm most likely going with my signature color which is limo-scene or adorable.

I've never had a French manicure in my life...haha...not my style...just did a solid light color since my nails are short...i thought it looked nice...do what is 'you' no need to conform to what others expect
I might get some brown design on my french to match my girls

I am not planning on doing a french manicure. I may do a wine color to match my pecdicure or maybe a light color. FH wants me to mix it up a little.

I also go nuts about the lines- I freak out if the lines don't match...I am most likely going to wear 'pink spell' on the day-of, so I won't stress myself out over little french manicure lines!

I'm not doing a french manicure. I'm just doing a baby pink.

Re: Is anyone not doing
I just did my own nails in a light white color. They looked fine and I didn't want to be bothered getting a manicure.
If you like dark colors on your nails, you should have that! I think it would look great.

I would say that if you want to wear your regular dark colors, then you should! I mean, youre supposed to look like you on your wedding day...just a glammed up version! Theres nothing saying that you have to get a french, espesially if its not something you would normally get.

Re: Is anyone not doing
i wasnt going to do a french as i too typically wear dark vampy colors but my only concern is having them chip and having them look all raggedy. Go dark, but maybe buy a bottle of the color for any touch ups
