Re: is anyone not doing programs?
I was dead set on not doing them because I wanted to save money and I didnt think that they were important but on Sat I went to wedding and I was so happy that they had them The ceremony was only like 30mins or so but I liked the fact that I knew what was coming next. It made the time go by faster and I felt included so now I guess I will have to come up the money to get them

i'm not doing programs ...
i've never been to a wedding where i was happy to get a program ... it was always more of a 'oh great, another piece of paper to hold on to'

Re: is anyone not doing programs?
I might not. I don't think I need to since it's just a straight Greek Orthodox Ceremony. No readings by other people or anything.
If I do decide to do them, it would just be a run down of what goes on in the ceremony since half of the guests won't be Greek and won't know anything.
We shall see.

Not doing them. Thought for sure it was going to be something FH and FMIL insisted on, but they surprised me when I said I was planning on doing them and to factor them into the budget and tey were like... why? And I was like.. ok, never mind then!

i went to an orthodox wedding once, and i LOVED the program. considering i knew nothing about the traditions...what the program had was an explanation of the significance of what was going on
i thought it was so special and it helped me to appreciate what i was sitting at.

we're not doing them... It's going to be a quick ceremony and I'd rather put that money elsewhere!

Re: is anyone not doing programs?
I was back & forth a bit on them but we are doing a few symbolic things in our ceremony that I want ppl to be aware of so now we are doing them.
edit to finish....
no you def dont need to do it. its just simply whether or not you & FH want them.

Re: is anyone not doing programs?
I keep going back and forth about it. If I do it, I feel like it'll be more for me as a memento than for my guests. But I'm leaning more and more to 'no' although we do have some cushion in our budget.

Our ceremony is going to be interfaith so we definitely need one.

Re: is anyone not doing programs?
I am because my mom is singing and we are doing readings and I'd people to have some idea of what is going on.
